Charla186, I think that you will need to have it evaluated by a TECH type of person. If unit will not turn on it could have a 'switch-mode-power-supply" failure and / or "backlight" inverter supply failure. You didn't state the AGE and or approximate "ON" hours this unit has. I don't quite know what you mean with "the power went out"?? Power to the whole house or office? or did you mean just the LCD monitor? Here are some options you might try. Warranty??? or Check with Westinghouse about a CASH + old monitor swapout for a fully refurbished same model. Have a local TECH at a TV/ monitor repair shop evaluate it's condition. I will also suggest you visit YOUTUBE and view some short video clips of LCD monitor disassembly just so you know what is inside a typical LCD and then know what the top 2 causes of monitor failure are. In any case get back to me and let me know what you think you will be your plan of action. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@aol.com Bye for now

My computer monitor shows a message "out of range". I can't get rid of the message or show anything from my computer.

The resolution your computer is sending is greater than the maximum support resolution of your monitor that isn't working or is a resolution not supported. Connect one of the monitors that works and turn down the resolution to something small (800x600 or 1024,768) and then switch to the original monitor back, you should see a picture and can adjust the resolution to something larger that the monitor supports.

Re: L1928NV has gone black yet light is still green. could it be a fuse and how easy is that to replace?

It can be power supply for the inverter circuits has failed (bad DC filter caps), failed backlights inverter circuits, and worst case will be bad lamp assembly.
You need to open it up and do in-depth trubleshooting, you will need proper tools to do the repair.
You may want to read my guide first to see if you will want to buy new monitor or DIY repair.

Lcd model L1928NV takes 2 to 3 dozen times turning on and off to get image stays on momentarily or stays on at times get message "no signal input" any ideas

doug_karr, Well, Why don't you get inside the monitor and find the "thermally sensitive/intermittant, cold, frosty looking" solder joint on the "switch-mode-power-supply"/"CCFL inverter supply" and do a nice touch-up job of resoldering it. Also look for FAILED, SWOLLEN, looking electrolytic filter capacitors and replace them with new ones if required. Read my fixya profile for all your options. Good luck guy.

Westinghouse L1928NV Monitor won't turn on

Hello,

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. You may also have to replace 2 transisters and a fuse, if they were damaged by the blown capacitors. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $45 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

We sell a kit with the capacitors, transistors and fuse for $10.00 plus shipping.

Audio and picture quit working on white westinghouse lcm-17v8

If you haven't figured it out yet through a web search, Westinghouse monitoris have problems with blown caps on the power supply board. If you are lucky the problem is minimal and won't require more than replacement of the caps. You won't know until/unless you open the case and inspect the power supply board.
