Re: laptop starting in safemode.

I have a toshiba satellite 200 pro,i had the same problem.Toshiba told me it was a problem with my registry,Microsoft told me it was an N-vidia graphics problem!! Toshiba then sent me an update which W.Defender refused to let me run until i overided it! my cost!! I had to do a complete system restore,i lost over £300. of I-tunes downloads,(i'll back it up later is no longer said in our Even after a complete restore it still started in safe mode.
Now this might sound daft but i eventually found the problem myself! I adjusted my screen resolution to lower than specified, got rid of fancy shadows and underlines, changed my screen saver to the bare minimum and then.............I found that the main reason you so rightly pointed out in your problem! in my sound/playback devices/speaker properties vista had set itself to a default setting for a desktop pc. Make sure yours is set to 16 bit,44100hz (cd quality). I hav'nt had a problem since. also i would advise you run a registry booster even if its a free trial version, run it every day just to dust it off. hope this helps.oh and another top tip,not just for toshiba users but every other user, only install updates from windows/microsoft.they know the system you are running and they have much more intelligent beings working 24/7 to keep the like of us button clicking web surfing know it alls

My laptop does'nt work in normal mode but its working on safemode.thus anybody can help me how to enable a sound on safemode? thanks in advance for those who have idea

"Safe mode" is really a diagnostic mode. "doesn't work" means what? Depending on what the problem is, we may be able to fix it. Please describe exactly what you mean by "doesn't work". Screen blank? Keyboard not responsive?
You can try setting the screen resolution to 640 by 480 while in safe mode, and see if that gets you someplace when you go into normal mode.

Unable to paly sound in safemode.

You would not be able to play any sound in safe mode. As including the sound card , no other drivers get loaded. Drivers are peice of software that gets installed on windows to make your audio work. Safe mode is a diagnostic mode, so none of the drivers load in safe mode. Would request you to restart the computer in normal mode and then check for the sound

MY Dell laptop running XP will run in safe mode but shut down after 2 minutes in normal operation. When I start it defaults to safe mode but allows me to restart and comes up temporairialy in normal mode...

Hi Friend, If your system only boot up in safemode, you should try a Clean Boot of your machine to help given steps, 1- click Start, and click Run. The Run window appears(From the safemode desktop) 2-. In the Open box, type msconfig and then click OK. The System Configuration Utility appears. 3- go to the General tab and click Selective Startup radio button. 4- Un-check all options with the exception of "Load System Services" & "Use Original BOOT.INI". 5- Click Apply, and then click Close. 6- When prompted to restart the computer, click Yes. Now if it boot up in normal mode you should get a message to the effect of the changes you just made in msconfig, don't worry about it, but make sure you put a check in the box that says "Do not show me this message again" and click the "OK" button.

My toshiba 2415 s205 is running in safemode how do i switch it back to normal

While it is starting up tap F8 while the Toshiba splash screen is up, this will take you to the start up options page. Choose last good configuration or try starting windows normally, but you need to find out why it is starting in safe mode to begin with.

Did you try to do a F8 or F12 and safe mode start, or you can also start from last known good configuration too. Try that out and I hope it gets you up and running,
If you need anymore help just write back here and we will see what we can do. thank you

Safe mode business

safe mode automatically comes up when you didn't shut down properly. Just select boot as normal or last known good configuration then you are good to go.

uninstall any new hardware or software you have recently installed to cause the problem in the first place. If you haven't installed anything then windows should just start normally.

good luck
