Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook
Remove the hinge cover and see if you can press the power button directly on the multimedia board component of the palmrest (Under the Hinge cover assy) http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6400/en/sm/hingecvr.htm#wp112388 If it works, reset the hinge cover it may have been misaligned. If no change, replace the palmrest
