Question about Whirlpool Gold 24 in. Built-In Dishwasher Dishwasher

1 Answer

I bought a second-hand washer (whirlpool gu1100xt)

I bought a second-hand washer (whirlpool gu1100 xtseries) Hooked up..lights come on ..can hear the water cycles operating(fills with water)..drains fine. But the motor dosen't sound like its working(no water being splashed around!?! It sounds like the motor "buzzes" for a minute then stops. At least I didnt screw the unit in permanently..so I can still pull it out easily. The unit has all these "sensor" modes..I'm not familiar with them and I didnt get a manual.

Here is a link for you to download the manual for your machine. Some units are very quiet and you really can't hear them washing. If the dishes come out clean, then it is washing

Whirlpool duet washer door will not unlock or complete the cycle

Wait at least three minutes after the end of the cycle before attempting to unlock your Whirlpool washer. The door will not unlock until the motor speed equals 0 and 180 seconds have elapsed since the motor control unit received the "Stop" command. If the water in the washer is warmer than 122 degrees Fahrenheit or the water level is set higher than Wool, Delicate or Hand Wash, the washer must drain before the door latch will unlock 2 Hold down the "Control Lock" button on your Whirlpool washer for three seconds at the end of the washing cycle. Listen, and when you hear the unlatching sound, the door should open.3 If your Whirlpool washer did not unlock at the end of Step 1, press and hold the "End of Cycle" button for five seconds to manually reset your washing machine.4 Unplug your Whirlpool washer and leave it unplugged for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, plug your washer back in. The washer's programming should be reset and the door should open.5 Manually unlock the door of your Whirlpool washing machine. Make sure to unplug the appliance before completing the manual unlock. Use a screwdriver to remove the metal strip, called the toe panel, at the bottom of the washing machine. Once you've removed the toe panel, reach up inside the front panel of the washer and feel around for the door latch. Locate the tear-drop shaped tab at the bottom of the door latch and pull it gently. When you hear a click, the door should open.

My washer is hooked up but I am not getting any water. I'm getting the high efficiency light, the delicate sheet, and the spanner all come on.

Hi just read your posting. Now the error code you have indicated is Error code 48--49 , This error code is for hot or cold water valve fault. Now you say you just bought the machine.Did you buy it new or second hand?My manual says that the causes of this fault are due to 1---Faulty valve coils 2---- Faulty wiring or 3--- Faulty motor controller. If you bought this machine new then it would be wise to ring the place where you bought it from and ask for warranty. If you bought it second hand then please reply and I can guide you throe the finding of the exact fault and repair.Good luck.
