Removing portable cleaner handle

To remove the long handle with cord attached, there is a press button at the bottom near the top of the vacuum body.. Mine is covered with plastic with press written on it.. You just press the button and pull the handle off.. takes a bit of force to pull the handle out...

I want to remove the hose from the handle of the vacuum? I already removed the plastic clip. I thought that would free the hose, but it did not. Any ideas?

There are two discs on top on the dandel that cover the screws. You need to remove the two screws and the you can take the handle off the hose.

Remove hose from handle on old electrolux canister

BE careful here. Do not fish a coat hanger in the handle.
The original hose has a set of detachable handle componnets. There are two metal screws in the underside of the hand grip.Do Not pry. Once removed go to the suction dial area underside of the grip. Observe the plastic fingers near the dial. These must be reset in their " track " when reassembling the handle.
Gently insert a small flat screwdriver between the rubber wiring contacts and the plastic tongue wraps around the socket. this tongue which extends from the hose handle adjacent to the metal tube. Work you way back to the hose area carefully separating the "hand grip cover" from the hose handle itself.
Once apart remove the obstruction. Carefully clean the two brass rings looking for any pitting. If pitted, gently polish by rotating fine wet/dry sandpaper around the rings, then lube with vaseline.
The matching contact fingers on the handgrip cover should be cleaned as well and gently tensioned to put a bit more presusre on the contact rings.
Slide the handle ONLY onto the hose. Once in place the contact rings will be visible. Now you can work the handgrip cover back into place starting with the two tabs at the hose end below the contact rings. To seat the small fingers at the control valve gently click into place before reinstalling upper handle screws.

Suction through hose but not base

mine did the same when new, i checked all as above then i noticed that i could twist the round peice that will unplug) (right behind the carpet-bare floor knob) and then i got suction at the base to be able to vacuum the floors, then i notice that there was a peice of plastic broken off that actually pushed a black latch down when either pushing the handle all the way up or down this lets the round piece i'm talking about swap over from base suction to handle suction! hope this helps and everyone can understand what i'm talking about! you have to look close to see where the 2" by 2" piece of plastic is missing!

Cracked hose for Bissell SpotBot

I found a site that carrys them, not sure if they are out because just as I was about to order one I decided to try and fix mine since the crack was right up next to the handle. http://www.svcvacuum.com/bissell/steamer_hose.htm
All I did was unscrew the two screws where the button is for releasing the water on the hand piece. I thin squeezed the clamp together to remove the water hose. Once that was removed I cut the hose and then PRYED out the part of the hose in the hand piece. I then cut the hose down where the crack was. Feed the "water hose" back through the hole in the handle (I heated it with a lighter just a tiny bit to make it soft and worked it through the hole which I just enlarged a slight bit) and with pliers work it back on. Don't forget the clamp. Next just work the outter hose back into the handle but make sure to use a glue or silicone sealer or both.
Even if you get a new hose Im not sure it will come with the handle. To connect the hose to the Machine part just push in that little plastic "dot" and pull out the hose at the same time. Then remove the old hose by the directions above. There is no need to remover the inner clear hose from the machine part, only the handle

How do you remove the plastic end fitted to the flexible hose

Not necessarily. Some Dyson models have an all inclusive flexi hose which attaches to the handle spine. Check EBay for replacement flexi hoses - UK has many sellers - or handles which have the metal pole and the flexi tube attached.
Alternatively take off the flexi hose from the bottom rear of the Dyson - it can come out via a press in lock release but it may take some time to do this. Once that is done the flexi hose should come down freely from the metal tube. If it doesnt then you may need to consider both replacements.
Dont forget to rate, thanks.

Intermittent Power brush

I would first check where the hose attaches to the canister. There are 3 power leads; if one is bent, this might produce what you describe. You might even try wiggling this connection to see if it affects operation.

The other place you might see a problem is where the hose connects to the handle itself. There are 3 wires that attach from the hose. This is a bit tricky to remove as it's basically a force fit and take some effort to remove.

Hose breakage

The same thing happened to me last week. The inner hose does not have enough "extra" play so if you bend the handle down too low to reach under a dresser or bed the lower inner plastic hose snaps. I brought mine in to be repaired since it's under warranty. I did a long exhaustive search and came across this website1.gif https://www.mdappliance.com that has Hoover Agility replacement hoses and their prices are the best I have found so far. The smaller inner hose (part number 90001080) is only $9.99 (compared to $13.99 & $19.99) and the external hose attachment (part number 91001004) is only $25.99 (compared to $39.95). I specifically asked and the parts are brand new... not refurbished or used. Their phone1.gif number is 866-914-1252. Just in case you're wondering, I'm not a rep for the company nor do I have any affiliation with them. I just placed an order for the hose attacment and came across this webpage1.gif and figured I'd add my 2 cents. Hope this info is helpful. I tried to make it as complete as possible.

Goiod luck.

PS: They also offer a flat rate shipping fee of $7.95 regardless of what you order. No sales tax unles you're in Ohio. :)
