Can only use 1 ringtone at a time on my Motorola v3.
I downloaded several ringtones to my phone using MPT. When I assign a different tone to contacts in my address book, the tones for each of the respective callers don't ring. When I go into the audio menu to view all of the tones, select one and click 'apply as ringtone', that tone is applied to all calls, even though the callers have a different tone designated. Am I missing something, or could I have a potential problem with my phone. Please help! Thank you.

Are your contacts off the SIM? You cannot assign a ringtone to a SIM contact that is different than your general ringtone. If it is a SIM contact save it to your phone then you should be able to assign a distinct ringtone.

I suggest that you download ringtones using a computer and using the mobile phones usb cable, transfer the downloaded ringtone to the mobile phone. It is much easier.
in motorola v3 razr ringtones get downloaded in the phone memory and doesnot go to the card memory . so you need to switch the memory to the phone memory and then you will be able to see that ringtone. once you move that ringtone to the card memory and then you can assign the ringtone also .
If you want ot assign the ringtone to some particular contact then it should be in the phone memory then only it wil pick up that not from the card .
The ring-tones that are saved to your memory card, if mp3 file, will only play within your music player. You cannot assign any ringtones on your memory card. You must either download a ringtone of your choice from Sprint.com (which costs per ringtone), use your "voice memo" to record your desired music and assign it as your ringtone, or download any ringtone of your choice from certain webhosts that other the service for free such as: myxer.com, mobiles24.com, phonezoo.com, zedge.com.
Before you can assign a ringtone to a contact, you must first go to "settings" and then to "ring styles". Click on "Detail" and go down to "Ringer IDs". Make sure it says "On". After that, you should be able to assign a ringtone to a contact by editing the contact details. (Custom ringtones are at the bottom of the list instead of at the top.) Hope that helps.
you have to saved your contacts on your phone memory and not the simcard...
1- enter the number in the phone ( press store)
2 - you will see in this screen the phone is asking whether to save to sim or to phone.
3- press phone
4 - no you see that the contact list hs more options.you can enter the person name contact numbers eg home, cell, work, email address, then scroll to ringtone.
5 - here now when you open the ringtones you can now apply a store ringtone to the contacts name.
HI
Below is the step by step method of how to delete your ringtones in your Motorola V3:
Here is an easier way to delete the ringtones without much hassle.
1) Upload 1 mp3 rintone to your phone via MPT
2) Set ALL ringtones msg, alert etc, absolutely everything for all styles (obviously excl. silent & vibe) to the uploaded MP3
3) switch your phone off, then on again. This will update the .db files.
4) Using P2K, delete all the rintones, except for the MP3 that you uploaded, do not delete the .db files. Also, do not delete the .bas files as these are the base files for Motomixer. Set all reminders to OFF.
do not EVER delete a ringtone that is currently in use by the phone. If you delete it while it is active, You will NOT be able to get into that particular tone setting.
5) Switch your phone off, then on again.
