Question about GE WHSB8000B Top Load Washer
In agitate cycle the machine started makeing a ''chunking noise'' there is no strange sound in any other cycle. What can I do?
Unplug the machine- you should be able to turn the agitator by hand- turn it by hand- if you hear a noise, get a butter knife, or some other flat, thin item and move it around under the edge of the agitator, there may be a small object jammed under it! if so, then remove it, and enjoy the quiet! the agitators in many machines are removable- but you have to un-screw the top retainer, then use tool to loosen the agitator from the shaft- which can be a bit of a chore!! the older the machine, the more difficult! may want to check if your machine is level- but the spin cycle would tell you more! if it 'walks' across the room on spin, it's really out of level!!
