Question about Broan-NuTone Allure II QS230SS Kitchen Hood
I don't want to break it. I can not figure out how to get the lense cover off
Believe it or not - they just unscrew like regular light bulbs. There is supposed to be a suction cup that came with the hood to replace the bulb - we lost ours. I was able to remove it by using a little bit of pressure on the face of the bulb and twisting it back and forth. The other bulb was stuck, so I made a "handle" using duct tape on the face of the bulb.

1. Take the filter screen out.
2. You can reach and unscrew the light at the base, very easily.
3. Screw in the new light (make sure you align the Edison threads with the holes in the screen)
4. Replace the filter screen..

The halogen medium base bulbs used in the Allure Broan over the stove hoods are both difficult to screw in to make contact to light up, as well as unscrew to replace. Since there is barely room to get your finger tips on the edge of the bulb and sheet metal hood I used a thin piece of rubber used to help grip taking lids off bottles and jars. I remove the filter screen so I could grip the back of the bulb socket with one hand and apply an opposing force with the other as I had to push slightly up gripping the edge of the bulb with the thin piece of rubber twisting counter clockwise to loosen the bulb. It is not like taking a bulb out of a lamp socket as it does take some finger strength to firmly squeeze the edge of the bulb to break it loose.

Take the vent off and strong long fingers will unscrew them.
