try uninstalling and reinstalling and/or if necessary roll back the wlan driver. Should not have too much difficulty with XP.

Hi,
Yes this is an OS problem. Mostly laptop vendors like ACER expects that the OS is Vista or Windows 7.
And these OS have default drivers of WLAN but unfortunately Windows XP don't have these drivers.
So you have only two options.
Either to upgrade your OS or to search for valid drivers of WLAN of Win-XP on Acer's website.
