- Have a 2002 Sony KV-36XBR450 FD Trinitron Wega XBR, stand by light flashes off on 4 times continiously as long as plugged in. No picture only sound for 20 seconds then shuts off by itself. Each time I turn it on only sound for 20 seconds then shus off itself. I paid big bucks for this thought it would last many years. Have a small inexpensive 19 yr old tv. still works.- GuestMar 11, 2009

- Had a professional tv repairmen tell me the tube is going bad. For $105 he rejuvenated the tube and it worked fine again. It's blinking again and getting worse. He told us the rejuvenation was a once only fix and could last one minute or one year. He said the only other option is a new tube, and would not be justified by the cost, may as well buy a new tv. If you give complete details then it would be better to find the solution.The required detail is:
1- Model No. KV-_______
2- When you turn on the set after 3 or 4 seconds its red light blinks how many times in a specific intervals.(like 1 time,two time...six times)

I own a Sony T.V. model #KV36HS510, Serial # 9024184,Event# E36002407 and it"s aTrinitron brand name. Like the problems before no picture or sound, stand by light on front of unit flashes. When trying to turn it back on you can hear the power click, like it wants to turn on, but does not.

You've got to replace the bulb. I've had my KF-50WE610 for four years. Mine just went out again too. This is the third bulb in four years. The bulbs are expensive too - $100 -$200 each!

I have model KV-36HS500, when turn on, no picture and standby LCD blink 7 times. Some one suggest that the IC8002 and/or IC6501 on D-Board (pn: MCZ3001D) went bad. Any advice? Thanks.

Sony Trinitron. Push button and sound comes on and standby flashes. Last time was 14 flashes before picture came on. Then picture continues to flash in and out, lessening as tv "warms up". Intermittently flashes throughout the day/night seemingly turning off and on for a split second. It seems to be getting worse...

Starts out with sound and then goes to standby and blinks 5 times or 10 times. Have followed the manual and hit the reset and then the off button and then release the reset. It worked for a while but had to be done several times them finally would not reset.

Have the exact same problem. At first, after trying a few times the TV would go on but now I just get the flashing standby light. Is there any help for dedicated SONY customers? or is it time to find another brand?

Screen goes dark at intervals (usually on abrupt scene changes in the program material, though not always), red LED on front panel flashes for 2-3 seconds times, then picture comes back.
If there are many rapid scene changes, say in a sports event cutting from camera to camera, the screen spends most of the time dark since each new scene change makes the screen go dark again.

The Same problem our Sony Kv-34XBR800. No picture no sound, it will blink six times pause and continue to blink six times again Pull the plug let it set overnight and it will start the next day. Called Q-Service and they want to replace the entire power board? It will cost $500 which $259.00 is labor! Why should I replace the entire power board,Q-Service won't do less. Thanks Sony for making something that only lasts five years!!!

TV won't come when hot , red light flashes 6 times. let it sit all night it will come on the next morning, if you cut it off during the day, it won't come back on. model # kv-40xbr800

Sony model KP53N77 - picture went black while watching. Did the hard reboot and plugged the tv into the wall instead of a surge protector. Nothing works. Power button is blinking in a series of 4 times. It seems this is a common problem with Sonys??? Can you offer advice. Is this worth fixing? Thanks!

My Sony Trinitron's picture started having problems last night. After researching the internet, it would be helpful if I had a blinking light. Like the others, our TV turns on and then the picture disappears and the stand by light continuously flashes. We did the power re-set and it booted up faster but still shut down.
We want to know roughly what this is going to cost to repair and if there are any recalls from Sony for this problem to be fixed for free.

I have a Sony KP-61HS10 61 inch TV. It is 7 years old now. The TV turned off while I was watching. No picture. No sound. But the stereo light was on. Then I unplugged the TV, waited for few minutes and then plugged in. Now the red timer/standby light flashes continuously. NO picture or sound. Please help me.
