Good day i have mother board asus p5800-mx the usb port cannot work theirs no 5 volts in the port, pleas help me to resolve my problem thanks.

Ashley,

A) There are two USB headers on the motherboard.
They are rectangular in shape, and Blue in color.

One is to the immediate Right of the 3 white PCI slots.
Has 4 pins across the Top row, and 5 pins across the Bottom row.
May have USB56 printed on the motherboard next to it.

The second one is at the Bottom of the motherboard, below the Intel 82801EB southbridge chip; which is to the left of the CMOS battery.
May have USB78 printed next to it

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-P5P800-MX-Socket-775-MotherBoard-NEW-865GV-/221041609289?pt=UK_Computing_LaptopMotherboards_CPUs_CA&hash=item33771b4a49

(Turn motherboard photo 90 degrees to the Left, to be as it sits in your computer case)

EACH USB header supports TWO USB ports.

A Card Reader uses ONE USB header, with it's two cables.

Point?
Front Panel USB ports, are connected to one of those blue USB headers.
This USB header you know to be bad.
If the other USB header is not being used, connect to it.

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The USB ports in the Front Panel, should be connected by one common cable, and it ends in a plug on connector.

No? Not feasible?
Then suggest using a USB adapter card, in an open white PCI slot,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5606148&CatId=511

Product details indicate it has two internal USB headers.
This way you can connect the Front Panel USB ports to it.

Can't find the second set of pins for my USB drive

According to the manual, if you have front panel USB, use the pin set labeled USB3 for these connections. The USB3 connector is located between PCI slot 1 and 2. If you are already using this for the connector labeled 1394....1394 is for FIREWIRE interface and this mainboard does not appear to support it. Be careful of that connection unless you are absolutely sure of yourself.

How do i hook up usb button in intel 845 motherboard

Well, that's a start. You know you have an Intel motherboard in your eMachines, that uses an Intel 845 motherboard chipset.

It is an Intel D845GVSR motherboard.

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845gvsr/sb/cs-008823.htm

Left-click on the blue -
Intel Desktop Board D845GVSR Product Guide (PDF)

This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
(I would advise upgrading to Adobe Reader X { 10 }, however, if you don't have it )

After you click on the above link, it may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up. (Took 6 seconds just now. Adobe Reader X, and medium speed DSL connection)

At the top of the PDF file, is the PDF file page number box.
It is to the left of the Down Arrow.
Go to Page 11.
T is the Front Panel USB header.

This is where the USB ports on the front of the computer, (Front Panel) connect to.

Go to Page 31.
E is the Front Panel USB header.
The Front Panel USB header is J9F2.

Observe the numbers next to the pins.
Go to Page 33.
This is the pinout for the Front Panel USB header, using those contact pin numbers.

1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 = one USB port
2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 = one USB port

Notice pins 9 and 10 are not used.

You can connect two USB ports to this header.

The pinout of ANY USB connector, female, or male, is set to a Standard.

This is the standard pinout for USB connectors,

http://pinouts.ru/Slots/USB_pinout.shtml

In case you cannot download the Intel D845GVSR motherboard manual;

Looking at the motherboard in it's normal position, installed into the computer case, the USB header is on the Bottom edge of the motherboard.

It is to the immediate Right, of the bottom white PCI slot (PCI 3)
It is to the Left of the motherboard mounting hole.
It is Below the Intel 82801DB, Southbridge chip.

Two rows of pins.
5 across the Top row, 4 across the Bottom row.

STARTING on the Left side, (Towards the white PCI slot), and going towards the Right, the pins on Top are numbered,
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10

STARTING on the Left side, (Towards the white PCI slot), and going towards the Right, the pins on Bottom are numbered,
Pins 1, 3, 5, and 7

Pins 1, 3, 5, and 7 = One USB connection
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8 = One USB connection

Pin 9, and Pin 10 are Not used. (N/C. No Connection)

A) Pin 1 is for Power

B) Pin 3 is for D-
The Data, or Signal wire. It is the Negative connection

C) Pin 5 is for D+
The other Data, or Signal wire. It is the Positive connection

D) Pin 7 is for Ground

Going to the other USB header;
A) Pin 2 is for Power

B) Pin 4 is for D-

C) Pin 6 is for D+

D) Pin 8 is for Ground

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

Out of curiosity which eMachines is this?

USB 3.0 connectivity to front on GA-Z68AP-D3

Hi,

As you said the board got the front pin connectivity.
All you have to do is buy in any comp shop a front USB and sound socket for the casing.
It is up to you where to put it on the front panel, drill a hole to fit that outlet and use hot glue to fix it in that position.

Hope that helps!

Front panel header pin connections how to put the pin in the right place because i put my motherboard in a differen case can u send be a picture so i can know how to do it sony rx660

Don't quote me on this pinout ladydj11, but I believe this is correct;

The Front panel header is located parallel to the Bottom Right edge of the motherboard.
(Motherboard orientation; Processor to the top, Ram Memory slots to the right, PCI slots to the bottom)

There are two rows of 10 pins laid out horizontally. (20 pins total)

I will number the pins for easier orientation.

Starting from the Left side of the motherboard going towards the Right, across the Top;

Pins 1, 3, 5,. 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19.

Starting from the Left side of the motherboard going towards the Right, across the Bottom;

Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20.

A) Pins 1 and 5 are for the Power On LED light.
(Pins 1, 3, and 5 would be used for a dual color Power On LED light. Pins 1 and 3 are for the Positive { + } wire)

B) Pins 7 and 9 are for a Keyboard Lock. Believe the pins are left unconnected for an unlock status.

[ May be the other way around. The two pins may be have to be connected, in order to complete a circuit which allows power to go through the Keylock switch, when it is in the locked position ]

C) Pins 13, 15, 17, and 19 are for an internal speaker. Used for BIOS Beep Codes.

D) Pins 12 and 14 are for the Power On switch

E) Pins 16 and 18 are for a Reset switch, IF used.

Wires for USB go to which MoBo pins?

there is two sets of 4 pin on each with an xtra ground you may not use.
Here is the link for your motherboard manual which shows the connections.
i.e you can connect your two sets of 4 wires to usb 1 or split them i.e 1 set of 4 on usb 1 and 1 set of 4 on usb 2.

Is It required to connect Tower Front Panel I/O to Motherboard

The power button on the front panel would definitely need to be hooked up to the motherboard so you can power up the computer.

If you have any usb slots or a media card reader on the front panel, or both, then you would need to hook those up as well, otherwise the main one you need to connect would be the power button.

Case connector problem

we would need to know the motherboard you have. most i've worked on have a 7 or 8 pin connector near the bottom of the motherboard.... next to the pci slots. if that front devices uses a modular plug it usually has a blank pin slot so you cannot hook it up to say a usb port.

Get out your magnafying glass and a light... the connectors are often labeled right on the board.
