Most likely part number WR51X10101 Defrost Heater has burned out. Unplug and remove the rear panel inside the freezer. Defrost with a hair dryer and examine the defrost heater and look to see if burned out, It has a glass tube around the heater element and will be easy to see if burned out. If you need to replace the defrost heater you should also replace the defrost thermostat part number WR50X10054 If you don't see a problem with the defrost heater and I will instruct you on how to manually defrost to test the heater and defrost thermostat. Check for bad connections on wiring to heater and defrost thermostat. Your model has a mother control board part number WR55X10942 We may also need to check that because it does the thinking and determines the time for defrost. Let me Know what you find, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Model EEV-163F Whirlpool Upright Freezer. Defrosted this week, already seeing ice buildup. Freezer is cold and appears to run fine, but frost buildup seems excessive this quickly. Frost throughout

This freezer is not frost free. Being an upright limiting the amount and frequency of opening the door will reduce the build up of ice. Ice is expected and depending on humidity and quality of seal around door affects the amount of ice.

Using a thin ribbon check the seal integrity around the door. Confirm nothing is prohibiting the full closure of the door.

Adjust door if necessary. Replace seal if defective. Freeze open unsealed items in a frost free freezer before locating frozen food in this unit.

These units are likely located in the garage where the humidity is high. If used only as needed planning transfer between this and the kitchen unit frost can be minimized.

Being a conventional freezer not frost free freezer burn is less likely and frozen food will not dry out as quickly. Confirm that the freezer maintains about 0 degree F.

This unit is likely more efficient and will maintain the food frozen longer in the event of power outage.

Hope this helps?

Why haier freezer is beeping

Either way if you had the doors opened a lot, it should like you probably have frost build up preventing proper air flow. You'd need to pull everything out of the freezer and remove the lower back panel inside the freezer. If there is frost build up, you'll need to use a hair dryer to thaw all the frost out. The unit will continue to beep until the set temperature (0 and 38) are reached so that could take a while even after thawing out all the frost build up.

If removing panels sounds like more than you can handle, you can always unplug the unit for 24 hours and leave the doors open to allow the unit to defrost on it's own.

My freezer is filled with frost. I want to defrost but can't figure out how to turn off the freezer

Unfortunately there is no way to just shut off the freezer on any refrigerator. If the freezer door was left open by an obstruction and there is frost built up you will need to pull the product from the freezer compartment and unplug the unit or find the circuit breaker and shut the whole thing down. Keep the refrigerator door closed and you will have time to clean up the frost before anything gets too warm. Once you get the frost and excess water dried up you can restore the power to the unit and after a few hours it should be back to normal.

Frost every thing

I assume you mean frost in the freezer only, not in the refrigerator compartment.
There are a lot of mechanical problems that might cause frost to build up. The unit has a defrost timer to defrost the freezer and it might be broken.however, more likely, the freezer door was left ajar letting a small amount of outside air in, which condensed and froze.
Check to see that freezer door is fully closing and is not being block in any way. Recheck after 6-8 hours and see if frost is gone. If it is still there, repost your question along with make and model of your unit. J

There is moisture in the freezer. it should be no frost ref but sometimes we can see frost in the freezer

Is the frost built up on top of old food packages compared to new packages? Old packages will develop frost. If the temperature of the freezer is correct that is just normal condensation in the unit. If your freezer is pack tightly then you need to arrange it so that air will flow freely through out the racks. Good Luck

1999 Frigidaire Refrigerator

Check rear wall of freezer by feel for frost. Heavy, even frost indicates likely problem in the defrost system. Unplug unit. Defrost heater (in freezer behind rear wall panel), defrost thermostat (same area-must be checked at freezer temperature) or Defrost timer-located lower back outside of unit. Near compressor. Do continuity test on heater and defrost thermostat and if they show continuity (good), replace defrost timer. If not, replace the one that tests bad.

Defrost coils fully. Reassemble.

Please let me know if I have helped with comments and rating.

Refrigerator will work about 7-10 days after being defrosted until thick frost builds up again cutting off air flow to both compartments
