Why i am not getting any audio and sounds - HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

The TV has two audio out options: a digital audio out (coaxial) and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Both of these are just above the antenna in connector. The headphone jack is the top one.

For a sound system that uses RCA stereo plugs, get a 3.5 mm (M) to 2 red/white RCA F adapter at the headphone jack and use an RCA audio cable from the adapter to the sound system. Alternatively, you can use a 3.5 mm audio patch cable from the headphone jack and the 3.5 mm (F) to 2 RCA (M) adapter at the sound system. The TV speakers will probably be turned off automatically with this connection.

If your sound system has digital audio, get the digital audio cable. You will need to enter the menus to make this audio output active. See the Audio menu > SPDIF Type (PCM, Dolby or Auto).

It is either that the device is bad or the driver not instal, first get the driver re-install. if this doest not solve the problem get a new sound Card

go to control panel click sounds, speech audio devices, then sounds and audio devices.click audio. choose if you are using usb jack or the realtek hd audio output....

install sound drivers..if drivers are installed then goto control panel --> sound and audio devices --- > then click that and see whether any SoundCard is installed or not.. for example- Realtek AC 97 . it should be there .. are u getting sound at the startup of the windows or not...check that ...if sound comes then the problem is with the software u are using to play the movies .... try to install another software ...i personally recommend vlc media player.. to get goto www.download.com and search for VLC media player ....download it and install ...your problem will be solved..

I think this is dependant on your graphics card in your PC. Most PC's with HDMI ports are purely for video not audio, check with your PC manufacturer/graphics card manufacturer to see if it supports audio from the HDMI port.

You may just have to link the audio from the audio output port on the PC to the reciever for audio and HDMI for video.

so yours is realtek high definition audio.

I already inatall sound driver in my HCL laptop from supplied driver CD. But sound is not playing.

im thinking the reciever is set to get its audio from somehwere other than the dvd, sounds like you did most of the troubleshooting but do you get audio out of the reciever if its just playing the radio or something other than a dvd?

go to control panel>sound speech and audio devices>sounds and audio devices and click audio tab and see if there are any drop down options to change the microphone recording device
