Question about KitchenAid KHWS01PWH Global Horizontal Axis Washer

Cold water fill is very slow and makes strange sound

Hot fill is ok, warm alittle slower and cold fill is very slow. I've replaced the water inlet spout and cleaned the mesh-wire screens in the hose but that has'n solved the problem. I'm thinking that replacing the water inlet valve (an electrical part) might do the trick. what do you think?

Check with the plumbing work if that is fine then better take it to the dealer to change the inlet valve. attempting to change by yourself can cause other complications.

If you select warm water wash, do you get warm, hot only or cold only? If temp OK, but fills slow one of the fill hose screens is clogged. If only hot or only cold the opposite fill valve solonoid is bad.

Hot water fills with hot and cold not strictly hot what is the fix

see the causes: and proceed with common sense. God bless you
Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally. If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests: Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on. Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct. Is there hot water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it.

Water wont go in washer when on cold /cold or warm cold but will fill on hot cycle. Only cold water is connected. i dont even have hot hose connected---has worked fine for a year on cold/cold. Now has a...

The inlet valve on the cold water inlet is clogged, dirty or jammed. You need to remove the inlet valve and clean the valve and filter. use back flushing with brushing to clean the filter.
the hum you hear is of the coil working but is not opening to allow water into the system.
Also you can switch the inlet valve from the hot line if needed .
check this link for removing the inlet valve:

My Maytag Neptune FAV6800 washing machine overfills on the rinse cycle. Pulling the electric power does not stop the water flow. I have to turn off the water at the faucet feeding the hose. It seems to...

If you pull the power to the machine and water continues to flow then the water inlet valve is stuck open. You will need to replace the water inlet valve. The Service manual will step you thru the process.

FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

The water inlet valve is p/n 25001046 Substitution: 12002242 Water valve shop around for best price.

Is this Cold water inlet valve issue? If so and you only do Cold water wash/rinse like me you could switch the fill hose connections from hot to cold to hot at the faucet. Turn the hot water faucet valve off and select Warm/Warm temp selection and you will be filling with cold water wash/rinse. Maybe that would hold you over until you replace the Water Inlet Valve assembly.

You can check out your pressure switch transitions as I had this poster do for his issue at this link http://www.fixya.com/support/t5471295-washer_fills_water_begins_agitate_but

His issue seems to be a definite stuck pressure switch not water inlet valve such as yours. Check to make sure your pressure switch is OK by watching the fill point transitions as I mention in the post.

If you machine is a series 12 or above the Low and Mid fill pressure switch transitions will toggle at the same time. Series 12 and above us a 2 level pressure switch. Series 10 and 1 use a 3 level pressure switch.

Good Luck………….. D*ick

Very slow cold water fill, why?

First make sure that you have adequate water flow from the hose bib coming from the wall. You can do this by turning off your cold water connection at the wall, then disconnect the cold water hose. Then turn the faucet on and make sure the water flows freely. The most common reason for your problem is a clogged screen where the cold water hose connects to the back of the washer. To check this, disconnect the cold hose from the back of the washer and clean the small screen inside the cold water inlet on the washer.

Cold water does not fill the washer. Warm and hot intake is ok.

The description of the problem does not make sense.. You have two water lines coming into the washer .. a HOT one and a Cold one.. You cannot get warm water without mixing Hot AND Cold... and yet you say you have warm water.. Are you sure the cold water line is attached to the cold water inlet on the back of the washer and that it has water pressure ? If so... you may have a bad inlet valve.. or the control to that valve may be malfunctioning.. Not sure I can offer any more help unless I have more information about your problem... Hope this helps..
