Regarding the acer wireless driver

You can install and configure the wireless lan very easily, First of all you require to download the driver for your Acer Travelmate 2410 by below mentioned link
Wireless LAN Driver (Approx 12 MB)

when you download the driver simply right click and extract to the folder, now run the setup and it will install the wlan Drivers automatically, when the drivers are installed reboot the system once so they will run properly, now you will notice one new wireless icon in taskbar along with clock , simply click on the icon and it will show you all the available wireless networks in your area, click to choose your desired network (might require passkey if its secure) and you will be able to access internet/network with wireless connectivity

Most late model Acer Aspire laptops have G or N WiFi included in the computer. My Acer 3680 series has it built in (G) and I added a D-Link N card to it to speed things up.

There should be a switch on the front or a Fn Button that turns on the WiFi.

this is what you do, on the cmos setup, device configuration, you will see sata HDD ..., disable it and try and reload the OS again

Do you have a Bluetooth card in your Acer Aspire 4710 ??

If not, you need to buy, first.

If so, download the bluetooth driver for your Acer.

actually there is no need to touch anything in hardware please do not touch ur hardware without any reason i know what eactly is the solution is now follow this :

Problem : When Windows XP was made there was no concept of SATA drives now ur drive is SATA and ur installation disc does not contain drivers for ur Hard disk thats why it is unable to find ur hard disk as it doesnt recognize it u need sata raid drivers on ur windows inst cd

Solution:

this specific model Aspire 4710 was shipped with vista OS and drivers now u are downgrading it to XP it depends on the installation disc if it is new one like SP3 included then u would have never faced this issue in ur case u should get a RAID driver from www.intel.com and then include them in ur copy of windows XP cd to load them at the startup of installation , so u need them in the first place to carry out installation, u have to do some job here download RAID DRIVERS from www.intel.com select ur board and chipset Mobile Intel® 945GM Express download SATA RAID DRIVERS and then download nlite a software used to integrate these drivers to ur inst disk , u can also include SP3 thru this software in ur current win xp cd

just download sata drivers from intel and nlite from the link and install the software integrate these drivers and burn ur cd incl them and then install normally as u were installing them earlier now it will recognize ur drive simple for more info how to do check this out

I find that there is drivers for Linux, Vista and XP, go to:

and choose you OS and all the drivers you need including your wireless driver :-)

go to acer's website and click on the support section. you will have to pick your country. you can then choose your model. once you choose your model, you can choose the drivers. their website is not really setup well for knowing what drivers you need. you can also use one of several driver software tools that will check your system and tell you what drivers are out of date and then download them for you.

The Acer Aspire 4710 uses a SATA hard drive. Unfortunately Redhat Linux 9.0 does not have SATA support (uses the 2.4 kernel). You will have to upgrade to something recent like Fedore Core 7 or Ubuntu 7.10. Hope this helps.
