Re: Hey where does the belt go?

You didn't give your model #, but most Hoover's, if you turn the vac ove, take out the screws to remove the plate covering the brush roll and belt. The number of the belt is on the belt, unless it is worn off, it is also on the metal tag that the model number is on. Put belt around the motor shaft or pulley, then around the brush roll and stretch it to put brush roll in place. If this is a wind tunnel, it has 2 belts, one for brush roll, which is a V belt, and a flat belt for the motor to the pulley.

How to replace geared belt on Hoover Savvy U8171

Tom, This one is tricky. First get the belt on the geared motor pully, and then insert the roller through it. You will have to roll the brush toward the body of the vac to have enough room. Patience is the best on this model.

Belt replacement Hoover carpet cleaner

Hoover steamvacs don't use belts. If the brushes are not turning, pull the brush block out, turn the machine on and see if the square hole where the brush block was, is turning. If not then the turbine is bad. Sometimes you can take the turbine apart and clean it out. most times I have found , replace it.
