Very possible the door was accidently left open for a period of time. When that happens, moisture latches on to different areas which inturn creates ice build up. In short, do a good defrost and then restart freezer again.

May be worth checking that the magnetic door seal is still good. They are easily and cheaply replaced, and will help to keep the door properly shut.

Why does my fisher and paykel have water on the bottom of my fridge on the inside all the time

Freezer /fridge water/ice in fridge and or freezer

Usually due to CONDENSATION due to bad door seals or a plugged evaporator drain line? Can use a soft flexable tubing and very hot water to clean it out. Bad door seals usually need replacement, but u can use a blow dryer and something to pry it closer to the door wall while blowing hot air on to it. To create a seal, to test for bad door seals place a dollar bill in between the door and wall of fridge where it closes. Then slide out the dollar bill with door closed. It should offer some resistance and not be easy to pull out.
Most all fridges have a drain. Look inside your fridge for a "V" shaped channel with a small hole. This hole leads to a tube and a small pan which sits on top of your refrigerator's compressor. The defrost cycle causes water to run into the channel, down the tube, and then it generally evaporates with the heat of the hot condenser/compressor.
However, if that tube is clogged with food crumbs, particles , debris etc, you will have to clear it to get back to a normal mode of operation. A toothpick, pipecleaner, straw or a cotton bud can often do the trick.
Even a frost free freezer will still ice up at times in the areas away from the heated defrost area and the drain line can freeze. This icing causes the pipe work to the compressor to ice over or sweat and cause a puddle. Or if the drainage has frozen over, it will need to be de-iced. ( usually the line is under the freezer bottom plate covering. Towards the back of the unit) And there is another inside the fridge area also.
Give the freezer a good overnight defrost until it's totally clear of ice in addition to making sure the drain is clear to the pan at the back and then restart the freezer.

Freezer working but not fridge

All cold air in fridge comes from the freezer behind the back wall. I'd first check to see if the fan is running and trying to circulate air to the fridge side. If it isn't then you'll need to replace evaporate fan. Fan is located in freezer behind back wall.

Note: If you have a bunch of snowy frosty ice buildup on the back wall in the freezer then you have a defrost issue and you should hire a professional.

Both fridge and freezer are turned up to maximum cooling but they just aren't cold enough even though the weather is mild. Icecream is very soft - barely frozen and fridge temp is about 8 degrees...

Sounds like a failure to defrost.
Look on the freezer rear wall inside the freezer for ice bukdup.
If there is ice the defrost components ,must be replaced.

I'd say you most likely need a new defrost element and evaporator Chassis. You'll most likely find there's a big lump of ice behind the evaporator chassis in the freezer inturn blocking the fridge vent or the defrost element is burnt out icing up te Evaporator. It pays to replace both anyway you'll need to unplug the unit and leave the doors opens for 48hrs to defrost it first. cheers

using a hairdryer is ok. don't let water drip on it and don't point too close to plastics
ice build up on fridge wall can be due to:
short of gas
partial blockage in sealed system
compressor starting to fail

insulation failure

not the seals. the drain is blocked. take the rear panel off inside the freezer and yoy will probably see an ice build up at the bottom. melt off with a hairdryer and follow up with hot water till water flows away freely. if you have ice build up all over the pipework, then you have a defrost system fault and get back to me
