What is the electrical part on bottom of carburetor and what does it do

Some lawn more motors include a anti dieseling l solenoid to restrict fuel from entering the carburetor after engine shut down. The technical name is "anti-afterfire solenoid"

When the key is turned on the solenoid retracts allowing the gas to enter the engine as the engine is cranked. When the engine is turned off and no spark condition the engine can continue to run igniting the fuel from a glowing combustion chamber (like a glow plug engine). This device prohibits fuel from continuing to enter the Carburetor after the key is turned off, No spark, no fuel engine will stop.

Need to know how to change transmission fluid on cub cadet lt 1045 riding mower

Cub Cadet has five models in their new Series 1000 lawn tractors, all powered by Kohler engines. Cub Cadet models -- as several other lawn equipment brands -- are manufactured by MTD Products.

The Cub Cadet LT 1045 has a 20-hp Kohler single-cylinder engine, with an aluminum block and cast-iron sleeve for longer life. It has a full-pressure lubrication system with spin-on oil filter for easier maintenance. This engine is not as powerful or as long lasting as the Kohler V-Twin OHV, which is available in other models in the line, but the LT 1045's engine is still solid enough to provide years of mowing.

The hydrostatic (automatic) transmission is a good match with the engine and provides sufficient grip to cut grass on moderate inclines. Power is transferred from the engine to the transmission by a heavy-duty Kevlar belt rather than a more expensive shaft drive. A Kevlar belt also drives the three cutting blades.

The mowing deck cuts a swath of grass 46 inches wide at one pass, and is removable for service and cleaning. Four anti-scalping wheels help keep the deck from scalping grass on uneven ground. The cutting height is manually adjusted from 1-1/2 to 4 inches. The turning radius is 18 inches, which standard for lawn tractors. This model is intended for use on 1- to 2-acre lawns without many turns or small obstacles.

I have a sears craftsman riding lawnmower LT2000 model #917.273751 18hp intek engine 42in deck.Engine runs fine but when I release the clutch-brake pedal engine stalls.seems like an intermitent problem...

There are other safety switches as well. The electrical diagram shows (2) of the interlock switches (part no. 16 in diagram) in the electrical system. The location of the 2nd one could be on the transmission or the clutch/brake pedal. It could also be on the PTO system (blade actuator if you will). See if you can find the other switch on your unit. I have an LT1000 and have NOT looked for them. Here is an electrical diagram on your unit.

I have just installed this engine as a replacement. it has two wires coming from what appears to be a solenoid on the bottom of the fuel bowl on the carby. can you please advise where the two wires are run...

The wires should be black and gray. The black wire is a ground and mounts to the engine, usually on the cooling shield screw. The gray wire needs to have a 12v source when the key is in the "START" and "RUN" position. Not knowing what the mower is, it would be difficult to tell you which terminals on the key switch you need to hook it to. If you have a volt meter this should be easy to detect by checking voltage on the "backside" of the connector while you are turning the key. It's very important to make sure that when the key is in the "OFF" position, there is no voltage going to the solenoid.

If you have a Walbro carburetor you could always remove the solenoid and replace it with a regular bowl nut. If it is a Nikki carburetor, you would have to replace the bowl with a non-solenoid type.

The purpose of the solenoid is to minimize "backfire" that can sometimes occur when turning the engine off. Hope this helps.

Where can i fine manual for engine replacement

Remove the blade belt and, if needed, the deck to give yourself more room to work. Apply your brake pedal and lock it down, this will relieve the tension on the ground drive belt.
If you have an electric blade clutch, find the plug where the wire goes over from the clutch to the frame and unplug it.(Electric clutch will be heavy when unbolted so be ready for it.)
In the center of the pulley or blade clutch you will find a long bolt (most likely a 5/8 head on it) You may need a deep socket to reach it depending upon the type of stack pulley on it, remove this bolt and the pulley should slide freely on the crankshaft. slide it downward and slip off the belt on the top of the pulley then remove the pulley the rest of the way

I have 16 hp Craftsman riding mower with a Kohler engine.

It may think you are in reverse and is killing the motor to keep you from backing up with the blade running. Look for switch that is telling it when you are in reverse, maybe it is stuck with grass or other debris. another possibility is that the blades are jammed and they are stalliing the motor. Mines stalls easily when cold.
