Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

Under ''Where do you want to send the scanned image, Scan to'' list box is empty in HP Solution Center for HP scanjet G4010. You can not type a destination in the box. Does someone have a solution or patch? I couldn't find anything on the HP site.

Hi wjacks1

When you scan a picture it will be saved as a file in a directory When you scan a document, there are 2 ways to do it. You can as an image in which case it may be automatically saved in a directory with the names like scan0001, csan002 etc
If you selected the option to scan as a document then "scan to " should show few programs in the list like Microsoft document, notepad etc.
If you do everything the correct way, and still no list comes up, probably you have to reinstall the HPSolution Centre or update it from the HP website.

Where do you want to send scanned image(s)? in the "scan to" box which follows there are no choices nor am I able to type in a destination. West


Normally the default option is 'Mydocuments' folder. Incase you already have a file with the same name, it will be over written..

Scan to list box is empty in the HP Solution Center software which is required for "Where do you want to send the scanned image". I get a error message asking for a destination but as I said the box is...


If there are updates, they'll be available on www.hp.com. Click the support link and then either enter your model number or drill down the products list to find your product.
In dealing with HP's all-in-ones, software called the HP Director is what I used to define what goes in the send to list box. Also, many of the newer all-in-ones, you can also program these options through the printer's console controls (those with a status or picture window).

Hi,
Click Start , and then click Run .
In the Open text box, type msconfig , and then click OK .
In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor . tick the box.

If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list,
the driver was not correctly installed and You need to reinstall the software.

Open HP Solution Center with one of the following methods.
On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP Solution Center icon

On the taskbar, click Start , click All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
If more than one HP device is installed, click the tab for the All-in-One product.

Click Settings .
Click Scan Settings and Preferences .
Click Scan to... Setup .
Click the Destination List tab.

NOTE: Depending on the computer performance, it can take several minutes for the
Front Panel Destination List to populate after you turn on the printer or computer.
If the Front Panel Destination List contains valid scan destinations,
you need to reinstall the software.
If the Front Panel Destination List is empty, continue with this procedure.
Click each program to include on the Scan To list.
Click the Add arrow.
Click OK .

Scan a document using the Scan To button on the front panel.
If the scan fails, try to scan using the HP Solution Center Scan button.
If the scan still fails, re-install the software.

When I hit scan it says "no scan options"


Hi just follow the below steps and the problem will be resolved.

Solution:
Step one: Verify that the Digital Imaging Monitor is ready

The Digital Imaging Monitor must be running in order for the Scan To function to work. The Digital Imaging Monitor icon normally appears in the system tray at the lower-right corner of the computer screen, and the monitor is ready when a check mark appears on the icon after Startup is complete.

If the Digital Imaging Monitor is in the system tray, proceed to Step two.

If the Digital Imaging Monitor does not appear in the system tray, follow these steps.
Windows 98, Me, and XP

1.Click Start , and then click Run .
2.In the Open text box, type msconfig .
3.Click OK .
4.In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
5.Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor .
6.If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list, the driver was not correctly installed or a custom install was used. 7.Proceed to step three to uninstall and reinstall the software.

4.In the Open text box, type X:\setup , where X is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
5.Click OK .
6.On the installer screen, click Uninstall . If there is no Uninstall option, the software installation is incomplete.
7.Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
8.If the model supports custom install, install HP Imaging Device Functions to scan from the printer. The recommended install will install this feature automatically. It must be manually selected during a custom install.
9.Follow the onscreen instructions until the printer software is completely installed.
10.After successful installation, scan a document.

Step four: Service the product

If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

First check whether you are able to scan from hp solution center.

then check whether you are able to scan from ms paint.

to check: open paint, click on file-->from scanners and camera.
if it is scanning then proceed to the following steps or else uninstall the software and reinstall it
