MP830 A600 error with no evidence of ink tank carriage movement

My Canon MP830 gave me 5C10, 5!00 and A600 errors. I cleaned the sponges and wipes of the purge unit. I moved the ink tank carriage to the left to work on the purge system, but now I have no lights or response from the carriage. Any suggestions?

Remove cartridges and head.Unplug unit from wall.
Leave unplugged for an hour.
Plug back in and re-install everything.
This should bring you back to factory.

Error 6a00 how do i fix it?

Error 6A00 has no specific cause and no specific solution/fix. Sometimes, it's cause by Paper Jam, sometimes Waste Ink Tank Full,
sometimes Carriage Problem and still many more.

Simplest Trick: Open the front cover, pull the cartridges with the carriage and leave them somewhere on the passage, now close
the cover and turn off the printer, again turn it on. If it's not a fatal error, there'd be no more problem and no more error
displays on the screen.

First try this, open the hood (front cover), after the cartridges moved towards the other end/side, look at the other side (the
side where the cartridges were sitting before it moved to the other side). You'll see the Waste Ink Tank Pads (sponge), remove
them and clean them (they should have been soaked with ink, so use a hand-glove). Remove the pads and squeaze or wash and dry
them, after they are cleaned and dried, reinstall (re-seat) them. Now power on the printer and check again.

Secondly, (remove the cartridges before you begin) open the doors and look for paper jam or anything inside the passage and
through the paper passage. Use a blower to blow all the dust and clear them out. Now turn off the printer and leave it for few
minutes while you clean the cartridges, again switch on the printer, install the cartridges. Now see if it's still there or not.

Try turning the printer up-side down, shake it (do this while the machine is off) and again reboot it. Once again check the
status.

Push in a photo paper (or similar thicker paper) into the sheet feeder, do this several times and again reboot the printer.

If the problem even after all these are done, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Error Code 6A00, printer not working MP830

Move you ink heads out of the way and look inside, you will see the waste ink sponges and a little white plastic flap that may be jammed in position, wiggle it a little to free it and then continue to move it to make sure its free. This should solve it for you.

Canon MP830 Purge unit sticking

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

6A00 fix
There is a sponge to the right of the ink cart that gets pushed up to prime each ink cart. The sponge then drops back down when finished. The problem is that the sponge gets stuck up. Just give it a tap and it will fall down, turn off then on and all fixed

Canon PIXMA MP830 All in One - A600 error

Here’s what I found.
There is a sponge to the right as stated but right next to that is a white plastic arm assembly with a spring attached to it.

It was the white plastic assembly arm that was stuck and not fully retracted. I tried to move it back and forth and then (pingk) it fully retracted. I powered on the printer leaving the ink caddy to the left and as it was cycling I could see the plastic arm was covered with dried ink. I powered it off and moved the ink caddie to the left again and powered it on again. As it cycled I pulled the power plug leaving the assembly fully exposed. Grabbed some paper towel and put some alcohol on it and cleaned the dried ink off as best I could. I left the caddie to the left as I powered it up to see the assembly work

The printer is working again
