As a suggestion:
Check the trap door that opens and closes each time you obtain ice cubes. The water leakage may indicate a damaged seal allowing air from outside to enter. This will cause increased frosting and blockage.
The trap door may not be closing all the way or the magnetic seal around the freezer door may be damaged or not sealing completely.

You may also need to check the thermostat.
Temperature may be set too low. If you make an adjustment allow the unit to stabilize for 12 hours before attempting another change.

Good luck!

Ice maker works fine but ice will not vend out of the storage bin. Ice freezes in the vending area

Check the door flap where the ice comes out into the dispenser. The number one cause of the ice build up in the dispenser chute is caused from warm air leaking into the freezer and clashing with the freezer air.

Frost forms on the inside opening of the chute for the water/ice dispenser. Also frost on the exit chute from the ice cube tray. The frost is present a day or so after I clean it off.

The door flap which releases the ice , on the door , is not closing completely .Usually this is caused by a rusted plunger so both the solenoid and plunger will have to be replaced , These parts are located behind the dispenser board so be sure to remove the top freezer door hinge cover and unplug the plug there , to remove all power going to the door , before attempting this repair . I think the part number is WR62X10055 for the kit .
When it doesn't close , it lets warm air into the freezer and causes frost on the dispenser AND on the ice bin outlet . Also , using 10 glasses or more , of crushed ice a day can cause this .

Frost buildup on area where ice comes out of the ice bin with frost also on the inside of door chute

The flap door where ice is dispensed is warped letting warm air into the freezer causing the frost build up. You must replace the flapper - a $5 - $7 part but not too difficult to replace. I find the flapper last only about 2 years and frost problem reappears. Forget about a "weak heater".

Freezer keeps running

yes,you need to pull the front panel on the ice maker off to get to the solinoid that opens and closes the flap, with the flap vranked open you are letting cold air out and warm air in and that makes frost,if you don't want to try and fix it your self put a cloth towel in the chute to block the air lose and call an honest local appliance repair person-mike

Ice dispenser in door clogged up or frozen

I would contact Hotpoint direct for this one. It sounds like a design fault to me.

What I think may be going on is that the cubes are melting too much, then refreezing lower down.

Set your freezer to -18, and the fridge to +2 and see if that changes things any.

Check seals in that area. Where is the moisture coming from to generate the frosting? - Is the location high in humidity?

Ice maker frosts over on the chute

This would indicate a problem with the ice chute door seal. Have it serviced. Air leakage would cause the frost-ice buildup.

Ice Jam in Chute - Whirlpool IDI SxS

first check would be to see if the flapper door is closing all the way in the dispenser area. best way is to remove the ice bucket and shine a flashlight from the front up into the disp door area and look for light around the door from inside the chute.

another check would be to make sure the door delay mechanism is connected an not allowing the dispenser door to close to fast trapping a cubes in the door and causing an air leak in the chute..

Keep in mind if you use alot of crushed ice frost build up is faster than with just cubed.

Frost on icemaker door

Most likely the ice door is not closing properly.
Clean out the ice chute and look down it from the inside while you shine a flashlite up from the outside. If you see light around the door then it needs to be replaced or something is wrong with the mechanism.
Post back and let me know what you find.

Bottom of ice maker/dispenser frosting over

Open the freezer door and look down the ice chute while you shine a flashlite up the dispenser cute from the outside. If you see light around the chute door, it needs to be replaced or something is wrong with the mechanism. The problem you describe is almost always air leakage around that flap.
Post back if you need more help.
