How can you remove scratches from eyeglass lens?

I'm afraid not. the light modern glasses, have a coating, trying to remove a scratch will remove the coating, and change the correct focus on that part of the lens. If the scratch is in the visible part, do you see a dull part, I'm afraid you have to buy a new glass. If it is not visible for you, try to live with it, till you need a new pair.

I have a Kodak EasyShare Z650 digital camera. I have a tiny scratch on the outer lens. Can I replace the lens or can I fill the small scratch in and smooth it out like what is done on chips in car windows?

First check your warranty on the remote chance that might cover the damage. The only true fix for a scratch on a camera lens is replacement. For many point and shoot cameras that would cost more than the camera, IF you can even find someone to replace it. There are several do it your self options that work sometimes and to varying degrees. The first and most well known way is the alcohol method. First place some lens cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wipe the lens well, then using a clean portion of the cloth, dry the lens well. Next mix a solution of 1 part rubbing alcohol and 20 parts water (e.g. 20 teaspoons of water to 1 teaspoon of alcohol.) Using a fresh microfiber cloth, dip it into the alcohol mix, then gently rub the length of the scratch repeatedly and you may see the scratch disappearing. If so continue until the scratch is gone. Next take a clean microfiber cloth or if you don't have one, a clean portion of the one you used previously with the alcohol and gently buff the lens. The second method I am aware of is using one of the many lens scratch repair kits available online, but be sure to read the reviews to choose wisely before you purchase one.

Glasses

use toothpaste rub a small amount on the scratched lens depending on how deep the scratch is rub the toothpaste over the scratch until the scratch is repaired.
Glass lenses are delicate and can be easily scratched.
These scratches mar vision beyond the lens, and can sometimes obstruct vision completely.
Prevention is the best method to keep glasses clear, but accidents can occur.
Luckily, there are several ways to quickly and inexpensively remove scratches from glass lenses.
These methods include using toothpaste, baking soda, windshield fluid and vehicle wax.
Apply a small amount of toothpaste on a soft, cotton cloth.
Rub the toothpaste onto the lens using small, circular motions.
Continue wiping for about 10 seconds and rinse with cold water.
For deep scratches, the method may need to be repeated.
Mix two parts baking soda with one part water to form a thick paste.
Use the cotton cloth to apply the paste to the lens, rubbing in a circular motion.
Rinse afterward and dry with a separate cloth.
Once again, this step may need to be repeated for stalwart scratches.
Apply a small amount of windshield fluid to a soft cloth, and polish the glass lens for several seconds.
This is more useful for light scratches, and is usually not effective against deep, prominent blemishes.
Use a clean cloth to buff vehicle wax onto the glass lens, once again moving in a circular motion, and continuing until the scratches have been removed.
Use several cloths, as the wax can adhere to the fabric, marring its performance.
Purchase an eyeglass polishing kit from a local optometrist.
These kits usually contain a polishing fluid and a soft cloth.
They are ideal for removing scratches from small glass lenses on glasses, cameras, telescopes and more.
They can be purchased for $10 to $20 and include easy-to-understand directions.

How can I repair a scratched lens?

Hi There,

Repairing a scratched is the hardest lens repair to accomplish successfully. It may be worth a shot to check with the manufacturer if ther is some kind of warranty or replacement program. The best option is to replace it. However the cost of replacing the lens may cost more than what the camera is worth. With that in mind, here are a few DIY options things you can try that may or may not work.

1. Scratch Repair Kit
Stuff Needed: Digital camera lens cleaning solution, microfiber cloth and a Scratch Repair kit.
Many companies sell scratch repair kits so there are several available on the market. Do your research to ensure it can work on, and is safe for your lens. Test it on an old camera if you have one lying around just to make the results are what you're looking for.
a. Clean the lens with the lens cleaning solution, and dry it off completely.
b. Follow the instructions provided with the kit.

2. Rubbing Alcohol
Stuff Needed: Digital camera lens cleaning solution, 3 microfiber cloths and a 3.5% solution of rubbing alcohol.
a. Clean the lens with the lens cleaning solution, and dry it off completely.
b. Dilute the rubbing alcohol by mixing 20 parts water to 1 part rubbing alcohol to get it to a 3.5% solution.
c. Take a brand new microfiber cloth, dip it in the diluted rubbing alcohol solution, and rub into the scratch using a very gentle motion.
d. You will know if this is working if you start seeing the scratch disappear.
e. Once the scratch has completely disappeared, take another brand new microfiber cloth and dry and buff the entire digital camera lens.

3. Vaseline Method
Stuff Needed: Digital camera lens cleaning solution, 2 microfiber cloths and Vaseline.
a. Clean the lens with the lens cleaning solution, and dry it off completely.
b. Dab some Vaseline on your finger and fill the entire scratch with it.
c. Using a new microfiber cloth wipe the Vaseline off very gently. Pressing too hard may cause the Vaseline to sink inside of the scratch.
d. You will know if this is working if you start seeing the scratch disappear.
e. As the Vaseline eventually rubs off, you may need to reapply some more and continue until the scratch disappears completely.

4.Pencil Eraser Method
Stuff Needed: Digital camera lens cleaning solution, 2 microfiber cloths and a new, soft pencil eraser.
a. Clean the lens with the lens cleaning solution, and dry it off completely.
b. Lighlty slide and rub the eraser unp and down along the length of teh scratch.
c. You will know if this is working if you start seeing the scratch disappear.
e. Continue rubbing the eraser until the scratch disappears completely.

NOTE: Never apply the lens cleaning solution directly to the lens itself. Alway dab a microfibre cloth with the solution then clean the lens and allow to dry.

Hope one of these works for you.

Scratched lens

Unfortunately is the only solution for this problem to replace the scratched lenses, because there is no treatment which can make scratches disappear.I only can give you some infos for the treatment of your next expensive glasses.: 1. if not used always put them into their case 2. when putting them somewhere else never put them with the glass on a surface (table) 3. if they are very dirty you may clean them with warm water and a mild soap and dry them with a very soft cloth. 4. never clean them with ready made wet wipes even not if they are for glasses, after a while this will start damaging the coating 5. for daily quick cleaning only use a soft little micro fiber cloth, you can get at any optician, often even for free. Then you will never have scratched lenses again.

Hello, I have a cash casio PCR-T275 I want that tax2 is taxing tax1. By example, if I have: 10$ tx1 (5%) = 0.50$ subtotal: 10.50$ tx2 (8.5%) = 0.89$ (tx2 applicable on tx1) Total: 11.39$ (NOT...

While you can't have the second tax rate tax the first as you described in the example, you could program the %+ key to be your first tax of 5% and program the tax rate 1 to be 8.5...so ring $10.00, then hit the 5% service chg,(programmed to be taxable by rate 1) then subtotal...should tax the whole amount

Lens error- half way down

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Lens does not retract in play back mode

Never buy a Canon camera again. I have the same problem, and sorry that nobody has a solution. This is the worst of the 3 Canon digitals I have purchased. Lack of a view finder makes it impossible to preview shot when outside on a bright day.
