Question about ViewSonic VP140 Monitor

1 Answer

BenQ LCD monitor was blinking on and off then stoped working.

The screen would blink on and off, but a good slap to the top of the unit would stop it for a while. The screen finally stopped working all together. Can the screen be fixed?

SOURCE: Monitor Blinking

This is a Common problem MOST if NOT ALL, problems like this with this type of fault it is invairably a problem with the Power Supply, in the PSU Electrolytic capacitors dry out and often cause this type of exact problem... It is a relitively simple fix, by replacing the caps with new ones... Any good shop should be able to fix for a modest fee.. OR if ya know anyone handy with a soldering iron maybe they could do it for you there are generally about 4 - 6 to replace... in the PS section, just do them all to be safe

SOURCE: BenQ FP731 17" LCD Monitor Problem

Its a problem with the inverter. check the 4 transistors, C5707 near the connectors for the backlight. If none are defective, look for the PF751 FUSE. It sure to be busted. You can replace that with another 3A fuse. Remember, you should only replace the fuse if you are certain there are no busted transistors in the inverter board. Otherwise, you now have a refurbished Benq Monitor

SOURCE: Power Light Blinking & Black Screen

A blinking blue light indiactes that your power-inverter board is not putting out what it should. It needs an overhaul which may be a simple as changing out the capacitors on the boards.
It could go beyong that to transistors or even a bad bulb.
It will have to be opened up to do that.
A picture may show visual signs of damage. If you can take one and email it to me , I'll take a look.

SOURCE: Dell LCD Monor light keeps blinking green, screen

Hello,
Your monitor has a bad power supply board. This happens often on LCD monitors because of the heat buildup in them. If you can solder them go to our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm We have a step by step dis-assembly and repair guide for your monitor. There are several versions of the E173FP some end in b , f, or c so be sure to check your monitor.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

SOURCE: power light blinking blue slowly

Try connecting to a different computer to insure it isnt the video board of the PC. If same results it is in the monitor. What I've seen a lot lately is capacitor problems especially on the power board. if you are willing to open the monitor then you should see two boards, one for power and backlight AC power (should have 4 plugs into it all the same). Look at the can shaped parts that have stamped in marks on top, usually looks like a K. If they are all perfectly flat then it's something else, maybe the other board that handles the video. If they are humped up (swollen on top) or have a residue (leaking) then you will need the capacitors replaced with the same microfarard (uF) value and voltage value positioned the same polarity as the old (dashes on one side means negative side). If it has 25V capacitors you can use 35V but not 16V. You can go up one series of voltage but not down. Capacitance in uF needs to be the same.

Sony KDL-52w5500 black screen 13 blink then 14 blink

You have a couple of problems if you are sure there are 2 different blink codes. 13 blinks indicates a backlight balancer error which would explain your no light condition. 14 blinks would be a TCON board error which is the driver board for the LCD screen. Either error would keep the screen black.

My benq fp737s monitor keeps blinking every 3 seconds. The green light keeps flashing and here is a clicking sound every time it blinks. Do I throw the monitor out or is there an easy solution?

It may have shorted out transistors, bad caps, etc. You need to open it up and do in-depth troubleshooting, but please read my guides first.

That cap is for the Primary power supply switching circuits. How is the DC secondary side, no blown fuse, shorted transistors in the inverter circuits? Pictures will help, budmrtn@aol.com

Takes a while to open after i start up my computer , for about 3-5 min the power light just blinks, while the screen stays shut until the screen finally opens and the power light stops blinking. Help me...

This could be a problem with the video output on your desktop, check with another monitor and see how long it takes for it to display when booting up.
Or this could be a problem with the monitor, these monitors after they age a few years some start to have the bulging capacitor problem. You can check for this by opening the monitor up and visually checking the capacitors for bulging.
To see what bulging capacitors look like check here.
Badcaps
That webpage also has tutorials on replacing bad capacitors.
If you have any more questions or if this does not solve your issue, let me know.

BenQ FP767 17" LCD Monitor Problem - Power LED Blinks

Look for small power transistors 2SC5707 near yellow invertor transformers which go to backlight connectors.
But if problem is blinking power LED powersupply capacitors maybe an issue, check visualy and/or replacement.
Also fuse that maybe blown is not glass fuse near mains socket,It is semiconductor black or yellow colour labeled PFxxx near heatsinks of power supply secondary.

Please rate the solution and provide feedback.
