" Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
" Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
" restart the computer
" try to download drivers from the website
" after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
" then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.
When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.
Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.
1. Open the top cover of the printer.
2. Remove the print cartridges.
3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.
5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
6. Close the top cover.
7. Try printing again.
If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

Open the unit up, you'll probably find a capacitor inside that doesn't have a flat top like mine. Replace that one from your electronics supply store, usually very cheap.

Do the following with a USB connection if possible.
You will need to completely uninstall the application ad drivers (see below) tehn reinstall the driver & application. You can download the latest version from HP Support at the following link
Make sure that you chose and install the correct version for your operating system.
If this persists then it would be a very good idea to uninstall the HP drivers and application then to run a Registry clean using the Ashampoo toll (free of charge for 30 days from www.ashampoo.de) to make sure that all instances of the driver and application have been removed so as not to cause any contention between drivers and applications. Then reboot the PC and reinstall the application from scratch.

You need to reset the printer. I had the same exact problem with a C6150. Unplug the power cord from back "while printer power is on" (doesn't have to be fully booted just turning on). Wait 20 seconds, hold # and 6 keys together and plug power back in. Continue to hold until power goes off or semi-reset message comes up. Power up (if off) press OK for any error messages and let the printer cycle. Should be good to go. Mine sounded very noisy while it was trying to allign internally. I can only suspect that was the initial problem but this process fixed mine and it runs great now. Hope this helps.
