Problem for Linksys Wireless-G WRT54GS Router (e125894)
The connection's there, but my laptop says no.

I use a Linksys Wireless-G WRT54GS router on my modem from my ISP. When I click to connect to a network, it shows the connection for our desktop PC at full strength. But if I select that one to use, it comes up saying it can't connect because the signal is too low. It's not a security issue because our home connection isn't secure (not safe, I know, but that's another tale). It does work if I plug directly into the modem, so it's not my laptop, either. Any ideas?

unplug the power cable on your modem, and your wireless adapter for about 20 sec, then plug them back in. This will give a brand new fresh connection from your internet service provider to your modem and your wireless adapter. Also power down the labtop and then reboot.
If that doesnt work you can always try updating the drivers on your labtop for your internet card.
go to Drivers.com
They have a free utility where you can scan your comptuer and find all outdated drivers, then download the new ones and install them.
Other things that can be effecting it is electrical interference. Having your labtop next to or near any big appliance, or tv, can reduce the single some.
They also make bigger antennas u can buy for your wireless adapter that will increase the range, and single some.
