Question about Motorola Cell Phones

2 Answers

Can I find out my registered serial number on my motorola Q phone? My first phone was stolen, but got a new one through my warranty yet I can't find the paperwork. Is my second phone serial number on file with my service plan company Verizon or motorola? If not, is there a way to get this information otherwise? The phone has not been activated for a couple years.

Hey thanks for the dfast reply. I forgot to mention a major part to my circumstan..ce. The phone was stolen a couple months ago when I was outta town for month and there was alot traffic through my house. When I got back and noticed it wasn't in my possession I pretty much wrote it off. I used it for music and some out of box things but I haven't had it on a service plan for quite some time, maybe three years. All of a sudden, two days ago a friend showed up and I busted him with a Q phone that looks very similar to my old weathered moto Q. I don't want to make any accusations without the solid evidence. Now I do have the serial numbers from my friends moto Q and his battery. Is there any way to cross reference the serial number from his phone with the records at verizon or motorola to see if they match with my second warranty phone they sent me?

Yes, you can contact the Service Provider Verizon or Motorola for the IMEI # of your older Phone and the cross verify the IMEI # with the Phone to check it.

Check this link for more information about the IMEI #:

If you remove the battery out of the phone it is on a label under it. It should be on the box that the phone came in. And yes if the phone was activated through your phone service they have to enter the serial number to activate it.

My tomtom Go Live 1535TM was stolen at Vallejo Plaza, along redwood st and sonoma Boulevard

There is one thing you can do if you have the serial number of your device. You can find it on the device itself and on a sticker on the packaging of your device. If your device was registered to your TomTom account, you could try contacting TomTom support by phone and ask if they can give you the serial number when you provide them you're account data.
Once you have the serial number you go to the police station and inform them your device was stolen. If you're lucky, one day the police will find the gagsters who stole your GPS, and if they find lots of stolen products, they will probably check the police computer to check if the serial numbers are reported as stolen.

Lost or Stolen Cell Phone

How To Use IMEI Number to Block Phones If your mobile phone is lost or stolen you can inform your network provider with your IMEI number. Your cell phone provider can then put the serial number on a shared database. This list stops this particular phone from registering on any network and will be useless for anyone even if the mobile phone’s SIM card is changed!

My loptop was stolen. Is there a way to track to see if the serial number has been re-registered?

If you have already registered your laptop, I'd suggest calling the 1-800 number and providing them with your original purchase information, proving you were the original owner and then ask your question of them. Sometimes, stolen laptop which are in warranty are then taken back into the manufacturer in order to try and obtain a refurbished replacement, and this is a good way to track it.

I know this isn't an elegant solution, and hope you find your laptop soon.

Whats an IMEI # on my phone?

It is an International Mobile Equipment Identity number. Mobile phone companies can use the number to identify valid subscribers and the type of equipment used. The carrier could thus use the number to remotely disable the phone in the event it is stolen or reported lost and customize data content to be compatible with the type of equipment used, among other things.

I had a sharp XR-20X stolen and all I have is the box, I need the serial number for the police report can I find the serial number on the original box?

Sorry to hear that. Usually the number will be on a sticker on the box. I think Sharp TVs have 9 digit numerical serial numbers, e.g. 011223344. This number will have either "Serial" or S/N written next to it.

Your other option is to call Customer support. If you registered the warranty then Sharp will have the serial number of the TV registered to your name. I don't know your location so I've listed the numbers for USA and UK:

(USA) Customer Support: 1-800-237-4277
(UK) Customer Warranty Hotline

Hope this helps:

Stolen camera

Using the software is not going to help you locate the serial number for the camera.

The serial number for the camera is located on the warranty card that came with the camera. You also may be able to contact Olympus Customer Service if you registered the camera on their website as they may be able to look up that information for you. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3

Motorola T5700 Talkabout

Hello Player1985,

I don't think there is any easy way to check to see if the radios are stolen or not based on the serial number. Motorola may have some record of this assuming that the original owners reports the radios as stolen to them but most manufacturers do not track this information in my experience for these type of consumer radios. I don't know for sure whether Motorola would or would not have this information, but you certainly can check with them if it will make you feel better.

As far as what they are worth, similar new radios sell for around $80-90 per pair.

Hope that helps.
