When I turn on the unit light is green there is a clicking sound maybe 2 clicks. /\It then turns off and the red light starts flashing 4 times, stops for about 4 seconds , starts again 4 times and continues in this pattern never stopping unless i pull out the plug.

There is no error code. I turn it on and right away it turns off but like I said the light blinks. I have to disconect the TV so that the light can shut off.

Contact Sony. The blue spots means There was a law siut about this problem. Do a google search. The optical block is bad and Sony may replace it for you even if it is out of warranty. Now as far as the unit now shutting down. that is likely some thing else. When the unit shuts off how many times does the red led flash. It gives and error code that will tell what has failed .

4 flashes indicated bad exhaust fan. The large one on the left in the back.

If the POWER/STANDBY indicator flashes three times, the lamp cover may not be attached securely. Review the lamp-changing instructions in your owner's manual, and make sure that the lamp cover is securely attached.

The picture goes off, the power/standby light

Sony KDF-60XS955 picture goes and power/standby light light flashes

Hi,

Most likely you have bulb failure. First step in troubleshooting is "Change the Lamp or Bulb". Lightning, power line bumps and collisions with vacuum cleaners can all shorten lamp life. Rough handling in shipment can also happen without your knowledge.

+90% of all Sony LCD Rear Projector "No Picture or Intermittent Picture" faults are related to bulb failure.

If new lamp does not improve the situation, then hands-on troubleshooting by someone that has parts and knows how the unit works is the only practical remedy.

Problem for Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655. Hello,

5 times Red LED blinks means Lamp Driver Error. (KDF-55WF655)
2 possible reasons, either Lamp is gone or Ballast Supply got bad.
Replace lamp first, in most cases it solved the problem.
How old is this TV and did you replaced lamp recently?
Thanks.

My Grand WEGA KDF-60WF655 60 in. has blue dots and standby flashes 6 times. I already changed the lamp. Can somebody help me?

Your SIx flashing are the indicaton of a bad thermal fuse, located on the lamp housing, its used to report the temp of the lamp at all times. replacing it envolves removing the optics engine assembly. When it fails sony detects this as an temp error. As to the blue lights dots, i am assuming this is on the screen while viewing, this may be caused by the blue optics engine LCD failing, which has to be replaced for normal operation, The good thing is you can solve both problems by replacing the Optics Engine. Here is a good place to start looking for one at good reasonable prices.
