How do I stop the letters from coming up in Japanese while editing names in my address book? Everything else is in English. The original name is in English but when I press a letter it shows up in Japanese.

This is a car, not a camera. I know some of the letters are similar, but they have very different functions.

However, this particular model was intended purely for the Asian market, hence it will not be possible to change the language. When you wish to call it names, you will need to learn some Japanese epithets.

I aparently entered jumbled letters for this and cant delete or edit it. ... activated, I can hold down pressed on the number and 'edit it before calling' , but I still can't figure out how to edit the name or just delete the contact.

need to set up your phone to ATT. here is how to change phone to english.
1.) Change the E-Book reader option from the Main menu => Tools => E-Book reader => Options => Global settings => Encoding, change to "UCS2 (Unicode)"
2.) Globally set the phone to English by opening up the dialing pad and entering *#0044# and then press the call button.
You should also try installing the Java based internet browser called Opera Mini offered on my cd.

what to do is when you are in putting the characters for the contact you need to press the menu key and change the T9 in to standard english

when you open your address book,select any name which you are gettings in your mobile,after than click on option than edit than got list of that particular name in your mobile

Do you have your address book sorted by first or last name, first/last and name/picture are the only options I have.  but when I open the address book, I can type names to jump to, one letter at a time, just like typing in a name... like 3332777555 for 'carl'.
