Question about Hawking Wireless-G HWR54G (603992506064) 802.11b/g Wireless Access Point

1 Answer

I have a Hawking HWR54G that I can connect with just fine, good signal strength, etc, but I cannot connect to the internet through it. I get a message that says "Limited or No Connectivity" and it will not bring up the internet. I have it connected to a cable modem and I can plug the cable directly into my notebook and access the internet, but not through the Hawking even though I can log in and have a good signal. Any ideas? Thanks

How do I reset the Hawking HWR54G to factor settings - delete passwords and security settings?

Hi,

At the back of your device next to the WAN Port (internet port) you will find a small hole with a button inside it, turn your device off then press and hold the small button in while switching on your device, keep pressing down on the button for about 5 seconds, that will reset your router to default settings.

Keep Moving Forward.

The company will have to set you up on some sort of a VPN network. Either shoftware on the computer or a hardware VPN from your house to their offices. I would speak with their administrator, as this will all have to be controlled from their end.

Reallyyour internet connection being up and connected is your part. There is nothing you need to do to your equipment to make this work, its all in their hands.

Setting up a secure wireless internet with HWR54G

Go to the Hawking Technologies website and look under there products for and installation. From what I've read it states that " the HWR54G comes equipped with advanced firewall functions to protect your internal network (LAN) from unwanted intruders and attacks." taken directly from there website"Installation of the HWR54G is very simple. In a matter of a few clicks on your mouse, the new Setup Wizard will automatically configure your Wireless Router for internet access. Another great feature is the removable external antenna. For those that feel the need to extend the range of their wireless network, the HWR54G allows for easy upgrading. By adding one of Hawking's Hi-Gain 24 Series Wireless antennas, the range of your wireless network may be increased by up to 100%. For more information regarding Hawking's Hi-Gain antennas please check the Hi-Gain 24 Series Section of the website.

I recently purchased a Hawking HSB2 Signal Booster. Two years ago, my son installed a Toshiba Cable modem(PCX2200)and a Belkin Wireless Router(model#F5D7230-4)for Camcast High Speed Internet. The Router...

Booster will only work along with access points in your case the belkin wireless router - you have to connect the device to the router not to the windows xp pc

if you know how to configure and the device are compatiable to each other and allows bridging or can configure as your access point client then you need not wanna to get it connected via wire or T568b standard ethernet cable otherwise you have to connect with this cable will enchance the wireless activity

Wireless signals can go down its strength by any magnetic activity, oscillations such as microwave, powerful steel/metal frames and check your anteena position keep in different direction and check your pc wifi signal strength.

Interlink between your router and booster with utp cables gives you steady flow of data and full band strength.

Aviod using two company devices change the router to Hawking
Thanks Hothawk

Router Not Working

OK, check which address ya on... see there are a couple of sets... there is 192.168.0.*, and 10.1.1.* ... or the like sometimes the settings get screwed up..I suggest that ya reset it up all again using the Wizard... then go to each client and run Internet connection manager to establish the connection... Think of the router as a stand alone little PC... that "hands out" the address, to the clients... work methodically thru it & hopefully ya be all good to go?

Help setting up hwr54g as an access point

Yes there is an easier way! Just setup the router as you would any normal setup. Follow the directions to set it up for the first time. What you want to do is have the put in all of your information that you need for it to communicate with your Modem. This will automatically place the router onto your network. Now the part that I believe you want is for this to be secure! Well setup either a WEP or WPA these are both encryption Protocols that will denie access to anyone other than you or someone you allow to access your network wirelessly.
You do not really have to go through all of the trouble of setting up specifics. As long as the two devices communicate the router and the modem will do the rest. I do this everyday in my daily work day! Anymore quesitons please feel free to ask!

Have router dont have software need to find it

Hi,

The Hawking Wireless-G HWR54G is a standalone device, there is no software needed on your PC for the router to work. However there is an easy Setup Wizard. If you are referring to this, perhaps you can contact their tech-support here or call 888-202-3344 or email them.

Should you prefer to wing it, the HawKing site has provided online guides. Open your browser and go to the Configuration Page (192.168.1.254). Follow on screen instructions.
On another PC with Internet connection, open a browser. Below are links to pages you might need:
Connection Diagram;
Frequently asked Questions;
Should you need a manual;
In case you need a firmware update.

Remember to use LAN interface when setting the router (as shown in the connection diagram) and set your PC to an IP Address of 192.168.1.240, Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
