Re: home pc

try this,
click on start then run, type msconfig in command box,
system configuration window should show up. click on tab called startup. click disable all, then apply, then click ok, it should ask if u want to restart. please restart the computer.

what will it do? it will disable all startup applications.
if this resolves the issue, then you would know its one of the startup application causing your computer to freeze it.

also right click on bottom bar, then click task manager.
click on tab called processor.
average processor is 25-30.
in my laptop i have only 19 processor runnning.
if you have alot of processor running that definitly cause PC to slow/freeze.

hope this information help you

My pc keeps either freezing or crashing altogether, this only seems to happen when i am surfing facebook ,or pictures on the web,I can watch youtube,or movies with no crashes at all,I've scanned for viruses...

Im guessing XP and if you have the CD do whats called a repair install. Choose the upgrade option then install it, this will not harm any of your programs at all you will just have to do all the windows updates when its finished. Cheers and please vote

Computer freezes on start up all I get is the blinking cursor on the upper left corner (looks like the DOS screen) waiting for a command to be entered. I force shutdown pressing and holding the power...

That blinking cursor is the way in which the BIOS is telling you that Windows is missing - its most critical, core files have been corrupted beyond repair. The only thing you can do is to reinstall using the recovery cd or your own Windows install disk.

Hi there,

The first portion of your description of symptoms would usually lead to the conclusion that your hard drive is about shot, but the rows of dots at the Recovery attempt point sqarely to your video card about to fail completely.

It could actually be both problems if your hard drive is 3 or more years old or has been run heavily and continuously for gaming or other intensive apps.

That's about all I think most of us here could tell you from a distance.

Best Regards,

Task bar consumes two rows at bottom of screen

Hi, try this to fix the problem. [right] click on the "Taskbar" select to open the "Properties" short-cut, next in the [Taskbar and Start Menu...] window, click on the Taskbar button, and [un-check] every box. Next, open the Toolbars window, and [un-check] every box, "Apply and OK changes." After you have finished doing so, "restart" the Computer. When you are back to the "Desktop window, open the Taskbar Properties again, and put a {Check mark in all the boxes of the items you want present, to view}. I hope that it works for you; thanks for using Fix'Ya, and if you find the time give a "rating" for the help, thanks again.

My computer is very slow starting up and it shuts down about every hour i tried all i know but cant figure it out can somebody help me fix this problem

Since you have not mentioned it to be windows XP or windows Vista
I am assuming it to be windows XP
Plz follow these steps
Step 1 - Disk Cleanup
This step is to delete unnecessary files from your hard drive and regains space. It also deletes your temporary internet files.
1. Click on the Start Button, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup.
2. Click OK for drive C:
3. After it calculates the amount of space.
4 Please place a checkbox in each box by clicking on it.
5. Note the number where it says “total amount of space you gain”
6. Click on the OK button, and then click on Yes. It might take time..
Step 2 -
1. Click on Start button, click the RUN button and type in "MSCONFIG", then press enter or click on OK
2. Please select the button that is labeled “Selective Startup”.
3. Now look across the top row of tabs. Click on the one labeled “Startup”
4. You will see a list of items in the center box. ( make sure that all boxes are checked)
5. click on "disable all"
6. Again look across the top row of tabs. Click on the one labeled “Services”
7. Put a check on " Hide all microsoft services " ( note: this is very important )
8. Then click on " Disable all" and then click on " apply" and then "ok"
9. It will ask you to reboot the pc
Step 3 -
1. Click on Start and then Run.
2. In the text box in the Run window, type %Temp% and click OK. A folder full of files and other folders will appear.
3 All of the folders and files you see in this Temp folder are no longer being used by Windows XP and can safely be deleted.
Step 4 -
1. Open My Computer.
2. Right-click the local disk volume that you want to defragment mostly its (c:\), and then click Properties. 3. On the Tools tab, click Defragment Now
this process may take a long time around 4-5 hrs depending on the state of your computer. So, you can do this at night and leave it running till moring
Follow these four steps and you computer will surely work faster than before

All The Best!!!
Please come back to vote, it would be a great appreciation for me and boost my determination to help so that I can keep on helping.

Freezes up

this could be caused by a number of things for you to check. maintanence is a key to keeping your computer running. keep your antivirus, antispyware up to date. keep your pc from overheating by taking a spray can of air to it (mind static electricity; after you unplug all wires from the pc and take the case off, touch the powersupply for 10 seconds to balance your electricity with the pc's so you don't fry anything.) hope this helps.
