Question about Frigidaire FullFGX831C Size Stack Gas Laundry Center

2 Answers

Frigidaire Laundry Center. The wash tub is not filling with water. I would expect to see water about at half mark on the the glass door of the frontloader. I see the water going in. The pressure seems about normal. The tub ends up agitating wet clothes with no visible water in the actual tub. I checked for a siphoning effect in the drain hose and altered the configuration there. It seems that is not the problem.

    The height and orientation of the drain tube meets what is specified in the installation guide. The wash drum simply does not fill with much water. I see the water enter, but it does not run very long.

    Is it possible that the water levels are brought down way too low to meet energy star requirements for front loaders?

  • chwilson5 Oct 04, 2009

    I can see water entering and being drained. However, the water level is too low and clothes are not cleaned properly.

    The water level is certainly too low as there is no visible water in the drum though the clothes are very damp.

    There are no kinks in the hose. The orientation of the hose is to spec.

  • chwilson5 Oct 04, 2009

    From your site...

    "Clothes cannot be adequately washed and rinsed without enough water, and this eventually destroys the washing machine itself.

    A solution some have used is to disconnect the machine from the power
    outlet, open it up and turn the pressure switch clockwise with a
    Phillips screwdriver (if a manual switch is present). The more turns,
    the higher the default water level goes. This voids your warranty, but
    may save your machine and will likely produce better wash results."

    How would adjust this?

    You cut and paste this from another site. It does not even refer to this model.

Hi,

The first thing youhave to check is whether Your exit pipe behind the machine could be level into the drain, that is at floor level. The machine has a water level where the pipe must bend over (about 3 feet from ground level); it then passes into the drain in your wall, also raised. Your water exit pump pumps the waste water of the machine OVER this height.CHECK WHETHER ITS 3 FEET HIGH

This must be the only solution for the issue, since the water gets filled initially but you also check with the following thing

There could be a leak causing the netire water to leak from the machine during cycle...

Important to know where the leak is from; you have to run your machine with the back open (next time you wash) & carefully look where the leak is, careful with the electricity & turning, extreme caution. Could be some grip clip is loose. It could be from your exit drain, in that case:

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

    Eventhough you have done the drain hose upto the required setting, it may be the cause,

    Try increasing the level of the drain hose and trying again...

    If this doesnt work, then it must be a problem with the Water intake sensor, which cuts the water when it reaches the required level..You should try changing these sensor..This should solve your issue

    Actually i thought of suggesting it before, but been repairing for many years and I advice do not touch the calibration screw on the the water level control. You will be creating more problems than you care to deal with, if you use this screw..

    And as ou said,your pressure is perfect, i was thinking from other point of view,Actually it could be even due to bad pressue switch, you need to replace the switch..There are less chance of calibration being changed unless you touch it

    Pressur switch is located underneath the crossbar on the top of the machine, visible when you remove the worktop

Tip

How to clean a wash machine

Regularly clean the top and door of the washer to prevent the buildup of dirt and detergent. When you wash very linty materials, remove lint from the tub after removing the laundry. Soap deposits may cause laundry to smell bad. To solve this problem, fill the tub with water and add 1 pound of water softener or 1 gallon of white vinegar; then run the machine through the complete wash cycle. If the deposits are really bad, wash the inside of the tub with a solution of household ammonia and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe the tub with liquid bleach. Caution: Rinse the tub thoroughly before wiping it out with bleach. Ammonia and bleach can combine to form a very dangerous gas.
Finally, run the machine through a complete wash cycle before you put any more laundry in.

My Frigidaire stackable laundry center will not fill with water?

Hi Keith Knapp, I appreciate your inquiry!
I understand that your Frigidaire laundry center is not filling with water. It sounds like you could be having a problem within water valve, control board, or door switch. I would recommend having a technician out to your home to properly diagnose and repair your appliance. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Frigidaire fgx831cs1 It won't fill up with water. Suddenly stopped filling up. Been working perfectly. Goes straight to wash cycle. Most likely problem?

Hi Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!

Based on the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like your Frigidaire laundry center (FEX831CS) believes that the tub is already filled. Let's attempt resetting your laundry center. This can be done by either unplugging it or flipping the household for about 10 minutes. If the issue continues, I would recommend reaching out to a qualified technician for a clear-cut diagnosis on the pressure switch.

Frigidaire FEX831FS2 LAUNDRY CENTER-Agitator does not work, all other functions work...tub fills, spins and drains,

Can you move the agitator freely by hand? If so, you will need to replace the agitator due to it being stripped out. Here is the part to order.

Instructions
things you'll need:

* Laundry detergent
* Clean cloths
* Measuring tape
* Plywood (if necessary)
* Wrench (if necessary)
1.Verify that the Kenmore top-loading washing machine is completely plugged into a grounded, three-prong power outlet. Reset the fuse or circuit breaker, if necessary; do not plug the washing machine into an extension cord.
2.Make adjustments to the feet on the washing machine if it is shaking or vibrating. The front and rear feet must all be touching the floor evenly. If the floor under the machine is flimsy and cannot adequately support the washer, set a 3/4-inch piece of plywood under the machine for better stability. Load the tub evenly when placing items inside the washing machine and do not overload the tub.
3.Examine the washing machine drum, including between the inner and outer basket, if the machine is clicking or rattling during use. Remove loose objects from inside the drum. If objects are caught between the drums, unplug the washing machine and pull the items out with a pair of pliers, if possible.]
4.the fill hoses behind the washing machine if there are water leaks and ensure the drain hose is connected to a laundry tub or drainpipe. Look at the plumbing throughout the home for drainage problems and correct as necessary.
5.Turn on the water valves behind the washing machine and clean the water inlet hose screens if the water is not running or filling. Do not overload the tub, and use only high-efficiency (marked HE) laundry detergent in high-efficiency Kenmore washers. Note that energy-efficient washing machines often use less water than other machines; this is normal.
6.Choose a wash cycle with a higher spin speed if the water is not draining as expected or items are extremely wet when washing is complete. Reduce overall load size and select a new drain/spin cycle to remove the extra water from the washer. Ensure the drain hose is properly installed on a drainpipe or tub and is not set more than 96 inches above the floor.
7.Reduce the number or volume of items inside the washer tub if the clothes are not rinsed when the cycle is complete. Verify that the water valves are turned on and the correct type and amount of laundry detergent is used.

Frigidaire Laundry Center (FGX831CS1) overflowing.

There are a few issues that could cause the overfilling...failed water inlet valve, failed water level pressure switch, hole in pressure system air hose or air hose disconnection to name a few. Need to have professional evaluate, or it could happen again. Call home insurance if there are water damages to file a claim, and they can handle it from there usually.
