Download the software type of your webcam, then restart, or restart, if you have not done that yet

Some webcams come with software that allow people to take pictures. If your webcam didnt come with the software, there are lots of free pieces of software that will do the trick. Here's one that i just found by going to google and typing "free webcam viewer"

How do begin to use the webcam?

To use the webcam you'll need software. Usually a webcam comes with software for it. If it's built in, on a Compaq, search for Cyberlink Youcam, which comes with your computer.
If you want to use it for video chatting, you'll have to download something like Skype, or Google video chat.
Hope this helps!

I wish to change my settings on my built in webcam ( contrast, light, etc) but when i press the icon for 'video web camera' it comes up saying 'camera not found', how do i change my settings on my webcam?

You need to download driver for your webcam. In order to download the driver for the webcam to be installed in the computer you need to simultaneously Google these three things
(1)Vendor of the webCam
(2)Model number of the Webcam
(3)The Operating system you are running on your computer like Windows XP, Vista or 7 etc

You can also install the appropriate webcam driver from the CD/DVD disk that comes with the the packaging of the webcam.

Good Luck!

Windows 7 is asking for web cam driver

See if your Webcam is compatible with your Windows 7 Operating System . Did software come with your Webcam? If so insert it to the CD-Rom and follow the prompts. Do not plug the Webcam into your Computer until prompted to do so.If Software did not come with your Webcam go to the manufactorers of your Webcam's website and see if they have Driver downloads for your Webcam.
