Creative Webcam Instant drivers for Vista

VISTA IS A TURD! It can't even run a simple WEBCAM for crying out loud!

ok so i have a creative webcam instant that wont install on a windows vista, what can i do to solve this problem?

somebody know where can I download or get a installer/driver for creative webcam instant? 'coz I lost my installer

You can just install ordinary Windows XP drivers, seem to work ok.

i lost the disc to install webcam instant and now i really need to have it because my friends have moved away anyone help???

Install your Creative Webcam Instant software - just like he said - by clicking properties on the setup.exe file on the CD - changing to XP SP2 mode and run as administrator.

After installation, download WCIS_PCDrv_US_2_00_04_0825.exe, and set it up as well (properties, XP SP2 run as administrator).

Then run WCIS_PCDrv_US_2_00_04_0825.exe to load the drivers.

It just worked for me!

Just google WCIS_PCDrv_US_2_00_04_0825 and you'll find plenty of websites with this dowload reference.

My wife has a new computer with Vista on it.  I tried to plug in my Creative Webcam Instant into it, thinking there would be no problems.  Turns out that Creative doesn't support Vista for a couple of its webcams.  I fixed it, though, and now there's no problems.  What you have to do is take advantage of a couple of Vista's less-obvious features.  Put the Creative CD in.  On the CD (not in a folder on the CD), there's a setup.exe.  Right-click it and select "Properties".  On the "Compatibility" tab, enable the option to run it in compatibility mode for XP SP2.  Then also check the "run as administrator" option, just for good measure.  After that, it will install just fine (otherwise, the Creative installer tells you that it doesn't support your version of Windows).  Then, after it installs, find the program's executable.  It should be in the relevant program files folder (if you're not sure, hover over the webcam center shortcut in the start menu, and see where the program is actually located).  Do the same thing for the program executable (right-click, compatibility tab, enable compatibility mode for XP SP2, enable running as admin for good measure).  If it doesn't work for you after all that, I don't know what to tell you.  It works just fine for me now (it didn't want to otherwise).

For those who have any version of windows 64 bit based os, the only thing which doesnt work is the driver. I am working to solve it ;)

Explore the installation disk and set the setup to compatibility mode.
