The issue may be with your computer. Go to a friend's computer. Give them the information to login to your account or get their permission to use their computer to try and open your mail.

If the mail account still won't open, write down the error message you get. Look for a way to send a message to Yahoo and quote the error message exactly. Be sure to provide an alternate email address for Yahoo to send their reply.

Hi Your internet (mail) set up has 2 different parameters . One for Receive and second for Send. The msg you ve is ror Send , reminding you have not set it properly Open your Pc mail setup menu and find the working values there and insert these paramaters into phone setting. Yahoo has been upgrading the servers and ran into difficulties, many are having the same problem. There are many issues at this time. They hope to have it fixed soon, In the meantime, you can use one of these links to access your mail, it's basic, no frills, but it works.

Not a guarantee these will work at this time. But you can try. This is not affecting some accounts, depends on which server you are on.

Get mms setting from your service provider first and then save and activate them as default.... Now select any plan available there..and then you can send mms...

What operating system are you on? XP?
What program are you using to send and receive mail? outlook? Outlook express? windows mail? or some online mail provider?
Please copy the exact error message you receive and reply back with a comment including that message(s).

It won't allow you to send webpages as attachments, if you want to send the pages either paste the link so, that your friend can access that page.
Else, copy the content of the link and paste it in the message area and in this way it you can send the data you want to.

Does someone else know your password. If they too login to the yahoo mail account with the same id and password at the same time, this error may occur. Try changing your password and see if the problem continues.

Hi, this fix was on a website I found & may help..

This problem happens because your version of Outlook Express is set up to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which your ISP does not use.
To fix this problem, open Outlook Express, and click:
- Tools
- Accounts
- Then click on your connection and click Properties
- Then click Advanced
- On this screen remove the checks from the boxes This server requires a secure connection for both Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3).
You may have to play with the settings a bit to suit your setup.
