The common "no signal" problems, have always a first solution as this one
- Control Panel => Network Connection then try to reset the wireless connection, and turn of the wireless router you have in your house, after that try to start the wireless router, then go to Network Connection and activate the wireless and try to see if you have signal again.

Have a medion laptop that wont connect wireless

click on start >> go to control panel >> double click on network and internet connections >> right click on wireless network connection >> click on properties and go to wireless tab >> check the box at the top that says use windows utility >> click on ok and than right click on wireless network connection and click view available wireless networks. It will show you your network name. click and connect to your network.

Hello, I got a Dell Inspiron mini 10 for christmas. and i can be on my home wireless network. then it will suddenly drop signal and i wont be on the internet any more. what's wrong with it?

hi Power off your router and wait about 45 seconds then plug in the power to the router again, restart your dell mini and see if the connect gets more stable. do you have any other wireless pc's in the house? if so do they work fine? if you dont have any other wireless pc's try to get a friend to come over with a laptop and see how their connection is to your network... that will definitely isolate if you have a router issue or a PC issue. keep in mind if you have other pcs in the house and they are hardwired into the router, they will not exhibit the connection loss that wireless pcs connected to the router will experience.

hope this helps!

I own a HP DV9000 my wireless quit working

Check the Device Manager to see if the Wireless LAN device is working and enabled. If not reinstall the Wireless LAN driver.
If the Wireless LAN is OK and enabled then sometimes when you bootup the Wireless LAN card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. This usually has a red X on the wireless connection icon and sometime you get an error message "Limited or no connection".
To get the router to issue the wireless LAN card with a new IP address, righr click on the Wireless icon and click on Repair.
You can also power down the router wait 15secs and power up the router again then reboot the computer.
If it still doesn't work you could have a faulty wireless card, see it your friendly computer shop can test it for you.

Wireless connection

First I will confirm what you've posted.

Before going to your friends house you used to connect the laptop up via the network cable. Since youve tried your laptop on your friends wireless it no longer allows you to surf the web via the wireless nore the wired connection?

To me it sounds like a possible mis-configuration between your laptop and your linksys router. Depending on what operating system you are using you need to get into your network connection settings (usually in control panel) and either set the TCP/IP to automatically obtain ip address or set it correctly.

If you have never had to configure this in the past ensure that obtain automatically is set.
