Printer won't print.

I went to print a Christmas letter....I had a paper jam------ I took out 2 sheets of wrinkled-up paper. Then,it said: "Take out the drum"---I did...one sheet behind the drum.... I put the drum (the cartridge)back in the printer.
Trouble: The printer window said: "Back cover open....Close the back cover".
All doors are shut! None are open.

If it has a slotted knob in the center
turn it to the right till it latches

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2007

There may be a lever/switch in the door
area that not making contact or defective or
    broken
    1.Use proper stactic discharge procedures
2.Did you touch anything in the shaded area
    noted in the manual
    3.Check for broken or misaligned
plastic parts in the area of problematic
    door

If you are sure you have
    all the jammed paper out
    try pulling the plug out
    for about a minute and
    plugging back in see if
    it clears

Canon Inkjet, Not Printing?

Hi Rosa,
There was a paper jam and you cleared the jam, however you missed out to do one other thing. Cleaning the Rollers.

If the Paper Feed Roller is dirty or paper powder is attached to it, paper may not be fed properly.
In this case, clean the Paper Feed Roller. Cleaning will wear out the Paper Feed Roller, so perform this only when necessary.

You need to prepare: three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

1.Make sure that the power is turned on, and remove any paper from the Rear Tray.

2.Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.

3.Clean the Paper Feed Roller without paper.

(1) Press the g0081065_tcm14-774017.jpg (Maintenance) button repeatedly until b appears.

g0081066_tcm14-774018.png
(2) Press the Black or Color button.
The Paper Feed Roller will rotate as it is cleaned.

4.Clean the Paper Feed Roller with paper.
(1) Make sure that the Paper Feed Roller has stopped rotating, and load three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.
(2) Make sure that b appears on the LED, then press the Black or Color button.
The machine starts cleaning. The cleaning will be completed after the paper is ejected.

This should fix the issue

I have a cannon Pixma Mp495. THis morning some paper that was wrinkled went through it when it was printing. THere was not any paper left in the printer. I did pull a sheet out the top that was stuck...

I believe that you tried to turn the printer off, then on. Did you? If so, and the problem persists, I belive that the jam sensor became damaged.

In a last instance, you can turn off the printer and see if you can turn a little (with your fingers) the roller that pulls the paper.

HP LaserJet P3005 printer prints wrinkled paper

2 reasons:
1. Was there a paper jam prior to this problem? It could be that the paper was pulled out and a small bit of it is stuck on the pins that guide the paper from the heat roller. If no torn jammed paper prior to this issue, then check out 2.

2. the heater/roller is damaged and needs to be replaced. I would suggest you take it to your nearest HP dealer to properly diagnose this for you. This would save you unnecessary cost in trying to pull it apart and causing more damage to it.

Good Luck,

The machine took and printed the letter on the plain white side, not the fancy side as I believe should have been......so.....I guess in a way it is resolved.

Thank you.

'paper jam' error on canon pixma ip4300

Hi guys, I eventually found a solution to the problem for my printer. With the top cover open, I pushed a sheet of 120 micron thickness A4 clear plastic binding cover through the exit tray as far as it would go to rest against the bottom row of rollers. I switched the printer off then back on again and as the rollers lifted momentarily, I pushed the sheet of plastic as far up through the machine as I could before the rollers went down again - it went in a fair distance. The printer then ejected the plastic sheet. I then put the plastic sheet into the paper tray and tried to print a blank document page. The plastic fed through cleanly and my printer has been working since without any error messages. I hope this works for you.
