Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies
My printer report screen is telling me that the printer cartridge is missing or not detected. I have tried putting the color and black ink cartridges in and out multiple times. I noticed a small, black, rectangular piece of rubber with ink on it that seems to have come from some part of the printer but without taking the printer completely apart, I cannot tell from where it came, if it is part of the printer. Any suggestions?
The printer carriage assembly is the part of the printer that your ink cartridge snaps into. Get some alcohol on a lint free cloth and wipe off the back of the printer cartridge where there are a bunch of copper colored dots. Also wipe of the part of the carriage assembly where those contacts on the back of the ink cartrige make contact. If that doesn't work then the flex cable to the carriage assembly is probably broken and then the printer is unrepairable due to cost of repair versus replacement.
