Why will brushes not come out.

If the brushes are stuck on your Hitachi c10FSH miter saw after you remove the set screws with a allen wrench, what I did was pull on the spring it will eventually break off or the brush will come out. If the spring breaks get a small screw driver with a fine point and try to break the brushes up,tap lightly as you do not want to damage the armature below, then get a vacuum and suck the pieces out , pick out the remaining pieces until every piece of the old brush is removed. By spinning the motor and looking into the hole where the brush goes into you can see if all the pieces have been removed. What happened is that you waited too long before servicing the brushes and they wore flat and got stuck inside, otherwise they should come out easily.

Makita HR3000c green light comes when trigger depressed but doesnt work

From the owner's manual: Indicator lamp The green power-ON indicator lamp lights up when the tool is switched ON. If the indicator lamp is lit but the tool does not start, the carbon brushes may be worn out, or the electric circuit or the motor may be defective. If the indicator lamp does not light up and the tool does not start, the ON/OFF switch or the mains cord may be defective.

The easiest to check is the brushes. Most newer tools have brushes with a spring loaded pin in them so when they wear down the pin pops and stops the motor so you don't wear the armature. Even without the pin the wire from the contact to the brush is short so the spring doesn't contact and ruin the armature. If the brushes are OK, you'll have to check the switch for continuity.

My Bosch Hammerdrill 119vsr (model060119b439) doesn't start. Pulled back to check brushes. Can't tell their do I pull the brush holder ring? Any suggestions w/b apprectiated. BY

You should be able to get the brushes out without removing the ring. Just pull the brush wire off the ring tab, hold the spring up out of the way and remove the brush. When new they should be about 1/2 inch long. If they're shorter than 1/4 inch or are too short for the spring to push them firmly down on the armature, replace them. The brush holder just slips over the end of the armature and up against the motor housing. To remove it rock it back and forth while pulling it out and it will come off. Another thing to check if you drill stopped all together is the power cord and switch. Use a volt meter to check that power is getting to and through the switch.

01 chevy duramax replaced starter 5 weeks ago every thing was fine now starter stays tryin to start after truck starts for about 30 seconds and then it stops please help what could it be

It sounds like a shim missing. The starter bendex is not releasing fast enough do to binding and the revilutions of the ring gear keeps it spinning until the sintrivical force drives it back. Hope this helps.

HI. I have a bosch wfo2466 washing machine and need to replace the motor brushes. does the end cap need to come off to do this or is there an easier way? I have successfully removed the motor from the...

You do not need to remove the end cap.Pull off the brush leads, and ease out the terminal ends of brushes with a pair of taper nose pliers..pull the old brushes out, take note of which way the shamfored end of the brushes are facing in the holder.
Push new brushes into holder and compress the springs as you are pushing them down, locate terminal ends into slots of brush holder.
This should help you with your problem.
Good luck.

if you have power to the solenoid on the starter pull in post but nothing happens thenthe brushes need to be replaced in the starter.the brushes let the solenoid go to grounrnd for the lenght of of time it takes to engage the solenoid pull coil and the switch and relay take over during the hold mode of the starter.usually will find the lead from the solenoid to the brushes has rotted off,or brushes are gone.

How to replace brushes?

On either side of the switch is a black disk with a notch small enough for a small screwdriver. Unscrew it and take it off to expose the spring. Gently pull the spring out and the brush should be attached. If you encounter resistance, then you may disconnect the spring from the brush. If this happens then push the spring back in and hope you catch the brush; if this does not work, then get creative or take the whole thing apart to get to it. After that, just put the new brushes in and recap.

Sewng machine motor housing

Remove the big plastic cover piece on the bottom of the machine with the single screw in the center.

Remove the machine's end panel by removing the single silver screw from underneath the bottom middle of the side panel. Pull the bottom of the side panel out and down to remove it. It comes off easily.

Remove the two screws under the motor assembly (silver screws with black washers).

Swivel the motor assembly enough to remove the belt.
There is a another plastic panel on the motor assembly over the motor itself. Remove the two phillips head screws to remove this panel.

At this point you can see the commutator and inspect the "business" ends of the brushes. (In our case, one brush was almost gone and there was nothing left of the second brush except the spring!)

You can then slide the motor out of the housing. I pushed on the motor pulley and pulled on the other end of the motor with pliers. The motor comes out rather easily, but be careful not to disturb the wires any more than necessary.

With the motor exposed, unscrew the caps over the brushes and remove the brushes.

Our motor's commutator looks significantly worn and the motor may need to be replaced. If you find a source for the brushes or a replacment motor, please let me know! Thanks, John
