Weed eater lawn mower pull cord locked up

I was mowing taller grass and the mower stalled. i picked it up from the back to see if there was grass clogged in the blade. i didnt see anything but the blade wouldnt budge. i tried to pull start the mower but the cord would only move 2in. or so. i turned it on its side (probably not the best idea) and i unwound a bit of thin stringy weed from the cylinder. i could move the blade around but it was tough. i turned the mower right side up and oil started leaking out of it. still no give on the pull cord. i just bought the mower off of craigslist and it looks to be in good condition and it started on the first try. this was my first time using it to cut grass. i dont really have the money to take it to a repair shop and just want to know if i might be able to fix it myself and how.

SOURCE: weed eater is locked up. can not pull cord at all.

Try taking the cover off around the pull if you can. Likely the cord is not free to spin, or there is a rub on the fly wheel stopping it from moving.

Im having truble puting the starter cord and springs back in my husqvarna weed eater 128ld

You have to take it apart, get the spring back in, then wind the cord around around it. Not an easy task if you've never done it. A small engine repair or lawn mower repair shop will fix it pretty cheap and fast.

Mower is not picking up grass plugging in chute

Did you just replace the blade ? If so, it might be on upside down, which would produce no upward suction.I assume you're not mowing right after rain. If there's a buildup of old grass gunk around the chute, scrape it off. Remember always to pull the plug wire off before reaching under the mower!

Weed eater GTI 17 won't run on high speed

A couple of things may work...
Make sure you have the correct Oil / Fuel mixture, if it is incorrect the motor may have problems running.
Also take off the bottom where the cord is wound up, make sure there hasn't been any grass get wound up inside it, this will cause it to stall out on high RPM.
