Question about Onkyo TX-8511 Receiver
I have this pair of speakers, one of those is damaged inside, so how can I disassembly the speaker in a safe manner, in order to send the cone to the local tech service.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

This is a problem with the surround sound processing. Effectively the digital signal is not being processed properly. Since this unit is so new, return it and request either an exchange or at least warranty service. The DSP board will likely be replaced.

The onkyo should still have a speaker A/B selector in the menu.
Check on the back panel for speaker A/B.
If it has or you decide to use Zone 2 you will need to set the sound programme to "stereo" so the rears and centre do not work.
You can still use a digital source.
You should be able to display the amp's menu on the screen.
Hook up "monitor out" (Yellow) via RCA connector to one of the "A/V inputs" (yellow) on the tv, this will show you a display of the menu and will make it eaiser to navigate.

yes. in order to do so, all analog input connections must be utilized by each device connected to the oynko

Testimonial: "topless422 Thanks a lot for the input. (assume you mean use all six Outs of pre out -to- all six Ins to Multi Channel) Ward "
hello there 2 transistor 1 for the right channel and 1 for the left first thing 2 do is a visual check in good light check for any burn't part or any bulging capacitors if everythink looks ok then check underneath the board for dry joints if then you will need a mulitmeter to start testing components
