Our dehumidifier is about 2 years old. It turns on and sounds fine, but it no longer condenses any moisture from the air. Does the refridgerant need rechargeing?

Our dehumidifier is no longer pulling moisture out of the air. I took the back off and the fan is still running. So motor or condenser? And is it worth fixing? The machine is approximately 6 years old.

Unit is repeatedly freezing up

Almost all dehumidifiers now have automatic defrost, but if you are seeing frost is just one small area, it means there is a refrigerant leak. Check your warranty to see if the sealed system is covered longer than one year. Generally, if it is, most manufacturers will replace the unit (rather than repair it, as the repair is rather expensive compared to the cost of a new unit). If you do not have any sealed system warranty coverage left on it, don't fix it. Buy a new dehumidifier.

Maytag dehumidifier model m7dh45b2a about 2 years old (5 year warranty) runs but does not remove any water

call 1-866-629-8241. they are no longer honoring the warranty because the company that made the dehumidifier (fedders) went bankrupt. they will prorate the warranty and send you a check. we had two months to go on ours and they sent us a check for $14 and change.

Whirlpool Dehumidifier (AD75UST) blows water out upper right vent? Whirlpool Dehumidifier (AD75UST) is blowing water out of the upper right vent. Details: *Approx. 5 years old *It continues to collect water and work "normally" except for the water blowing out of the vent. I have attempted to collect water using the bucket but it continues to blow water out of the upper vent. I have also attempted to drain water through the hose attachment but, again, it continues to blow water out of the upper vent. *It is on a level surface *I have cleaned the filter in front to no avail. *The unit is run in 600 sq ft basement about 6 months out of the year on a continuous basis for the following reasons: The home is located in an area that was once a swamp. Therefore, it gets quite wet in the spring/summer. The basement/foundation is about 100 years old and has issues with seepage and water often pools in various areas when there is consistent and/or heavy rain. *I also checked the troubleshooting section of the manual but it didn't mention an issue of this type. *I have searched the web in hopes of finding a solution but have been unable to find anyone else with this problem (perhaps I'm using the wrong terminology? I'm only guessing the part that is blowing water is called a vent). *The warranty on the interior/sealed system is due to expire next month (end of April 2012). I'd like to narrow down the problem before that if it happens to be an issue that Whirlpool with pay to repair. Any ideas on how to correct the problem? Thank you in advance!
