How to setup netgear wn2000rpt

Set your router bedside the cable modem.
Using a cat5/Ethernet cable that comes out of your modem and plug that into the WAN port (should be labeled) on the back of your router. Using another cat5/Ethernet cable plug that into your computer.
Turn on the computer then open up a web browser. You may go through a setup wizard for your router or you can use the disk.

How do i connect to apples time machine?

You can manually configure the time machine to accept wireless signal from the router or extender. If you setup WEP on the router or extender, make sure you setup WEP on the time machine as well.
For instructions in setting up wireless settings of Time Capsule click on this link -->>

Hope this works for you.

Won't connect to internest.

first there should be 2 cables connected the device.
1) power adapter
2) ethernet cable from either a dsl modem or a cable modem connected to the wan connector
with most cable modem service its usually dhcp meaning you are always connected to the internet
with some there is ppoe connection where a user name and password is used to make a connection to be on the internet with the dsl modem
there are some dsl companies that are dhcp just like the cable modem companies.
with the ethernet cable connected the wan port on your router there should be some kind of activity light on the router but check with the type connection from your dsl or cable internet provider. also you will need a second ethernet cable to connect your computer to setup and configure the wireless settings and wep protection.
need more info?

I have internet access when I plug in the ethernet cable from the modem, but when I try to access the internet via the router it says 'connected but no internet access'. What is the problem?

Hi there,
I know it is very frustrating if these things do not work. I am sure that the router is not setup properly that is why it is not working. It says connected because you have a good connection from pc to the router. But the connection from your Netgear router to the modem is not working. There is a possible IP conflict between your modem and router. I suggest changing the IP address of your netgear router to 10.10.10.1 . To do this click the link below:
ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WNR2000_UM_24FEB09.pdf
Note: This is the manual for your router. Go to LAN TCP/IP Setup Parameters to change the router's IP address.

Lost install disk

You don't even need the installation disk! Just do these easy steps:
Plug in your PC directly to your router. And make sure it is turned on. Also plug in your MODEM into the routers modem port.
On your computer open up Internet Explorer. Then in the address box type in: routerlogin, net
User: admin Pass: password
if password for the password does not work then just leave the box blank. Then just complete the steps.
If this works or if you need help then PLEASE email me:
pmt47@comcast.net
email me wither it works or not!

Why do i need an ethernet adapter to setup my router?

Most routers require either an Ethernet or USB connection to initially set them up. If it's a wireless router, it may have an IP address for setup over the network. I'd think you'd want an Ethernet connection to the router in any event for fastest throughput. A board Ethernet adapter is pretty cheap if your computer doesn't have one.
