Question about Maytag Dryers
Dryersqeeks and squacks when it starts up/turning the drum.
I believe your problem is the drum rollers in need of lubrication or replacement. The will cause the squeak and squeal as you described
If you have a front loading machine, Disconnect the power first, then remove the front of the machine, this will expose the drum and belt, then you remove the drum and belt and that will expose the drum rollers.
Try to lubricate the rollers at the shaft area with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One Oil.
If the drum rollers are worn very much and are sloppy at the shaft area then you may need to replace them with new ones.
While your at it check the drum roller surface to make sure they have no flat spots on them. If they do replace them.
I hope this helps
