I would disconnect the laptop and run system restore, and turn back the system a few days and see if the system comes back to normal. To get to system restore, click on start button > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore. This will only restore the laptop back as far as you want, this is not a complete "you lose everything", this will only go back a few days if that is what you want.

on the bottom right hand of your screen where it shows the time and then a bunch of little icons, there should be one for internet connections, probably looks like two computers, maybe with screens blinking. right click that and then click on whatever it say: manage network connections, maybe configure something. then you should be able to controll everything from turning on and off wireless and selecting which network you want to join.

this light might change colour in a sequence that denotes a good connection.

Hi,

You may have turn the wireless radio on first before you can connect to the internet.

Look down the sides of the laptop for a small slide switch and push it, an LED light should come on.

If you can't find a switch then hold down Fn and hit the F2 key.

Dell Inspiron 1525 cannot connect and says I need to turn on wireless capability using function key combination - what is it?

Hi,

The wireless radio combination should be the Fn+F2 keys to activate it. That is to hold down Fn and hit the F2 key.

I had the same problem, but I solved it by hitting the f2 key alone (w/out the function key). when i keyed them at the same time the wireless did not toggle on/off

Can't connect to internet

there is a switch on the front or side that needs to be put to the on position, if it's anything like mine it is very small and hared to see. If you normally have a LED that tells you that the adapter is on, it's normally near that.

Wireless radio adapter

if ur sure that that it is the fn and f2 that u have to press simultaneously to turn on wireless capabilty. Make sure u press it long enough
Right click on wireless network connection item in ur system bar and goto view available wireless connection and check what message is displayed there
If it still says that " No wireless network were found , make sure wireless switch is on "
Contact COMPAQ

...........
If ur not sure whether it FN F2 , then try to FN & F5 or FN & F2
