Lcd display

One by one each phone has developed an unreadable screen, making it useless for caller ID or reading the display.  I bought a 3-phone set about a year ago, and each phone in turn went foggy until now all three are worthless for anything except calling or getting call, which is only part of the service In pay for.

Same Problem

-   I have two VTech IP811 handsets with exactly the same problem. LCD displays start to fail...crystal by crystal, eventually rendering the handset display unreadable. When attempting to obtain repair advice from VTech, I was informed that I needed to contact Vonage for repair information. Well, good luck to me! Handsets work fine for recieving and sending calls, but call log, caller ID, and phone directory have been rendered useless. Replacement handsets are available on ebay, but shipping is cost prohibitive. I would prefer to effect a repair solution that is repeatable. -   Guest

-   I am experiencing the same problem with two VTech IP811 VOIP handsets. Over a period of 6 months, character displays started to fail, rendering phone book, caller ID, and call log unreadable. At this point, half of all characters do not display. The severity of the problem does not vary with the state of battery charge, but could be related to how the handset has been handled in the past, e.g., dropped, etc. Because the handsets are expensive, I would like to pursue a repair solution for the two that I have instead of purchasing replacement handsets that would eventually fail.-   Guest

-   We have the same problem. Only one in the office still worked. However, a couple of days into January, the displays on 2 of the phones miraculously came back to life! We figure something caused it-a power surge, a break in usage, who knows. But now we want the rest back! Any clues?-   Crompy
