Detailed Product Description
There are 3 major caller ID specifications in the world: DTMF, ETSI FSK and Bellcore FSK. When users buy a foreign telephone devices(such as cordless phone, fax machine or computer telephony interface), may encounter the problems of non-match for caller ID standard. This will cause the device unable to display the caller ID. EX220 can solve this problem easily. This product can receive all 3 kinds of caller ID format, and convert to FSK(Bellcore or ETSI selectable) to match foreign telephone's standard.
EX220 has a rechargeable battery inside the device, during idle status, it gets power from the telephone line and recharge the battery, so no need to use or replace battery. Just plug one end to telephone line, and the other to the telephone device.
For example, if you live in Netherlands, Saudi or India, the caller ID standard is DTMF. You purchased a cordless caller ID phone from US(which uses Bellcore FSK standard), or from Germany(which uses ETSI FSK standard). You won't be able to use the caller ID feature. In this case, just get one EX220 and connect it between the telephone line and the cordless phone, your cordless caller ID phone will display the caller's number immediately.
Remark:
1. Telephone sets for UK and Japan standard are not applicable.
2. In some countries, users must subscribe to Telecom for caller ID service

Now, Multi-Line caller ID converter is available.
Caller ID went out on Dec. 11th on our Undiden 2.4GHz - The corded phone we have, the caller ID is working fine.
I don't know what to do with the cordless.
We have the same problem. Only one in the office still worked. However, a couple of days into January, the displays on 2 of the phones miraculously came back to life! We figure something caused it-a power surge, a break in usage, who knows. But now we want the rest back! Any clues?
Nothing shows on the screen
Same problem, AND CLUELESS WHY THIS OCCURS...panasonic unresponsive, and very expensive to replace, over $70.
I am experiencing the same problem with two VTech IP811 VOIP handsets. Over a period of 6 months, character displays started to fail, rendering phone book, caller ID, and call log unreadable. At this point, half of all characters do not display. The severity of the problem does not vary with the state of battery charge, but could be related to how the handset has been handled in the past, e.g., dropped, etc. Because the handsets are expensive, I would like to pursue a repair solution for the two that I have instead of purchasing replacement handsets that would eventually fail.
I have two VTech IP811 handsets with exactly the same problem. LCD displays start to fail...crystal by crystal, eventually rendering the handset display unreadable. When attempting to obtain repair advice from VTech, I was informed that I needed to contact Vonage for repair information. Well, good luck to me! Handsets work fine for recieving and sending calls, but call log, caller ID, and phone directory have been rendered useless. Replacement handsets are available on ebay, but shipping is cost prohibitive. I would prefer to effect a repair solution that is repeatable.
