Question about Electrolux EOB5665G Ultrafan Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

Overheating? My oven keeps cutting out - the light goes off and the fan stops working and the element goes out, wait a few minutes (til it cools ) and presto - it's working again. Engineer replaced fan last week - I didn't use it again til last night so didn't know he hadn't solved the problem. Timer control shows the 'hand', red guage in line with hour hand - so on manual. Is this an 'overheat cut-out'?

Re: Overheating?

Yes - it is cutting out on overheat. there are two fans - which one was replaced - cavity fan or casing fan?

possible reasons are:
faulty casing fan
not enough ventilation
faulty overheat stat
faulty fan stat
oven operating stat faulty but you would be burning your cooking in this case

I have a westing house 509 fan force oven the fan turns off when i turn oven off but the element still goes and goes and goes why

This sound like a switch problem, when you say turned off is the element glowing because the oven light is not working, or it has to be switched off at the mains switch to stop heating, could you clarify.

Why do our element thermostats need replacing every few years?

When you replace the elements , sometimes, almost every time. The dial has to be adjusted. Have a oven thermometer? Put on 350 wait 15 minutes, see where it is. Remove top of stove, use the bar to hold up. Should be a very small screw on back of dial , turn clockwise or counterclockwise . Adjust til correct. You may have a part number sticker or similar sticker covering it.

Oven doesn't seem to heat up enough

There is a cooling fan In a STOVES 720 to keep the fabric of the oven cool. If this fails the overheat thermostats will cut in and shut the heating elements off. The cooling fan does in fact blow air out of various places in and around the doors. The top oven has a small element and takes a long time to warm up. If you are not confident that the thermostats are working correctly, then I suggest you purchase an oven thermometer from someone like Lakeland and see how that relate to what you are actually setting on the cooker dial. As I said the top oven leave a lot to be desired!

I can turn on the oven the fan works the light comes on the thermastat light comes on but the oven does not heat up i have changed the the thermostat cut off but no change and after a while of it being on...

Generally when the oven indicator light is on and the fan forced fan is working it will be a faulty oven element.Check the terminals of the element and if the connections are okay put a set of test lamps or a meter across both terminals. If there is 240 volts across the terminals then this means that the element is faulty.

thermostats are not the sane. make sure cooling fan is working as this is more likely to cause the oven to cut out

Baumatic oven not heating up. Grill and fan fine.

if it is the b180, the answer (having just fixed this) is really simple.

The coily bit is the oven element - it will have gone. A new one from eBay cost me about 6 quid.

Turn the power off.
Inside the oven use a philips screwdriver to remove the 4 screws (KEEP THEM !)
You will see a coily thing and a fan.

You unscrew 3 more screws (2 on the left and 1 on the right).

now ... bit tricky, have the new one inside the oven and take each wire off one at a time and put it on the new element.

Screw it back on but DONT put the last panel back in.

Turn the oven on maximum for about 2 minutes and see it glow red.

Turn the oven off. Make a cup of tea and have a couple of biscuits while admiring how good you are and waiting for the element to cool down!!!

Put the final panel back in place. Whole thing (including a cup of tea) takes about half an hour.

My indesit electric oven cuts out after about twenty minutes, will not switch on again until it cools. is this caused by a faulty thermostat?

It is probably the overheat safety thermostat that is operating due to oven overheating.
Check to see if the top cooling fan is working, and if it is built in, make sure it has adequate ventilation.
Please rate my advice.

Aeg b3101 oven / grill cutting out

Ther are a couple of possibilities that could be causing your problem.
A thing called the safety stat could be cutting the oven out, it is designed to cut off the oven in the case of overheating This is what brings on the cooling fan. Sometimes they cut out prematurly for example you may not have enough vetilation, check for restricted or blocked vents.
The stat itself could be faulty again causing the oven to cut out,and then as it cools down it resets itself and so on and so on.
The thing to do after you hve checked evrything else is toichange the stat.
It is usually located on the top of the outer oven compartment, it is about 1" or so long with a feed in and out of it
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks, and merry xmas.
