This could be two problems: I sounds like the timer is not working as it should. Call local parts stores and ask how much the part is and if it is a lot of Money think twice about repairing it. Next this could be the problem why the element is not coming on because it is not making contact with the timer. If over 6 to 7 years old they need to be replaced because the are not energy efficient. Also this can be fix by you if you take time and have the parts Book. Hope this helps.

Off peak hot water not heating!!! :(

The Economy 7 can control different types heater. Some heaters do not have off-peak ... but you can solve problem..
Copy following link:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/QE7-INSTRUCTION.pdf
If timer is wired to two different elements, then the night rate element or off-peak element might be burned out. Test element with multimeter.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-test-water-heater-element.html
Also this timer is wired so either Off-peak is getting power or Boost is getting power, but not both at same time.
If heater has off-peak element, then there will be a wire connected to terminal 5, going to heating unit.
If there is no wire on terminal 5, then there is no off-peak element, or wiring has not been connected. However you can change the timer function by moving wire on terminal 4 to terminal 5. Then only the off-peak timer function will operate, and not the boost.
You can also fool the timer, by setting time clock differently. Instead of setting timer for current time, rotate the dial and fudge current time by 10-12 hours so water heater thinks it's time for boost, but the actual time is during off-peak hours.
If terminals 4 and 5 both have wires, then either the element is burned out, or the timer has malfunctioned. Again, you can fool the timer by setting current time differently, and solve problem.

I have a Whirlpool LER4634PQ1 it was working just fine then all of a sudden the dryer just keeps running the knob on the dryer doesn't move and the air isn't warm. Any suggestions on what to s

there is a cycling thermostat in line with the high limit thermostat and timer circuit,on timed dry its disabled and the timer will run no matter what,on any sensor dry setting it uses the heat of the element to heat this cycling thermostat to move the timer as the clothes get drier as the heating element heats the timer doesn't move, when the heater cycles off from the high limit thermostat then timer moves again, you need to find out if its a bad heating element, thermal fuse or possibly even a circuit breaker in the homes electrical panel tripped out on one of the 2 phases that gives you the 240 volts required to operate the dryer element, the breaker may not show its tripped,so shut it off and back on and try this first

Just stopped working. No burning smell. When start button pushed, some kind of tiny "click" sound heard around the timer.

The click is most likely the timer motor moving the dial on the timer. The motor circuit on American dryers is 120 volts whilst the heater requires 240 volts to operate its 5k element. The motor circuit always has the fuse in it. The heating element has limits mounted on it but they only kill power to the element and not the motor. Fuses are usually located on the blower housing next to the control thermostat. MORE HERE

I replaced all parts but water heated won't get hot

You have electric water heater.
You replaced elements and thermostats but heater still won't work.
And tank was completely full of water, and water was running out of a faucet before turning power ON.
If elements are not fully immersed in water, they will instantly burn out.
If upper element is burned out, then tank will have NO hot water.
If lower element is burned out, and upper element is not burned out, then tank will have some hot water.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-test-water-heater-element.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-it-works.html

If elements did not burn out, then that leaves 1 main suspect: the electricity.

1) Push in ECO red reset button on upper thermostat. If ECO is tripped out, then heater will not work.

2) Click circuit breaker all the way one direction and then back the other direction to make sure breaker is latched.

3) If tank has 2 elements, then it is 240volt.
If 1 leg of 240Volt circuit is not working, then 240V appliance will not work.
240Volt circuit needs both hot wires to complete the circuit:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-EH40-hot-water-heater-timer.html#120-240

Buy cheap multimeter from Home Center and set dial to 240-250-277VAC
Tape tester leads to woods sticks to keep hands away from power.
Power is ON
Test across top 2 screws on upper element should show 220-240 volts.
If you have 240 at top two screws, then skip down to step 6.
If no reading across top two screws, then move to top of tank.

4) Open connection point where wire connects to heater.
Test across both insulated wires should get reading of 220-240 volts.
If no reading, move to circuit breaker box.

5) Mark water heater breaker.
Turn off all breakers except water heater breaker and main breaker. (and breaker to light fixture where box is located)
Do not hold or touch or lean against anything metal.
Stand on dry boards and wear dry clothes.
If main breaker is OFF, the big wires that connect to main breaker are still HOT.

Remove box cover.
240Volt breaker has 2 wires connected with screws.
Test across both screws for 240Volt.
See if wires are loose.
If there is no reading, then breaker is not working on one leg.
To double check, move water heater wires to another same-size 240V breaker and then put ear against water heater to listen for bubbly-fizzing sound.

6) If you are getting 240 to water heater, then wire inside tank could be loose.

Need instructions for T.R.A.C. dial hot water heater timer - not sure whether pins pushed in = off and out = on or vica versa

I thought I knew every water heater timer possible.

Never heard of T.R.A.C.
Is that a European timer?

Here's what to do. Set the pins one direction or the other. Start with cool water in tank, so it will turn on for sure when power is applied. Turn on power. Put your ear against water heater. Listen for bubbly-fizzing sound that tells you water heater is on.

Check label on side of tank to see voltage & wattage of tank. Watt rating for dual element tanks is same as element wattage, since only one element is ON at a time. Generally, 240V electric tanks are 3500, 4500, and 5500 watts. That is 16 amps, 21 amps and 23 amps. Make sure your timer has amp rating to match water heater.
