Soon as I flip toogle on psu , fan will spin,no display, will not power down with front panel button. Caps have no leaks or swelling..

plugged my camera into a front USB port and the mouse froze. On inpection The port looked damaged, when I plugged the camera into the lower USB port the PC switchdd off immediatley. Some USB pins are bent & I guess they have shorted. I have unplugged the usbports at the motherboard, but the PC will not power up.

I had the same problem. Mine was because of the mainboard capacitors. I quote some part of my post and ones of Tom.
"Nearly one month ago my computer started to reboot again and again. When it came up , after 10 minutes of operation it showed a blue screen showing the progress of dumping RAM or something. Now it does not boot at all. It just turns on and the green light is on , but nothing appears on the monitor. Also there is no drive activity. Just fans work! I think the motherboard is burnt. Any other possibility?"
"Gr8MP, look at your board closely. Are any of the caps. leaking or tops popped up?"

If yours was like mine , you should just buy the caps and replace them or get them replaced by an semi-expert or something. Good luck and keep me informed.

How Do I Reset Circuit Breakers in 2006 GMC Envoy?

Hi Michelle, I'm glad to help!

Michelle, Sometimes there is a hidden fuse box inside the vehicle somewhere. It could be behind the glove box, in one of the kick panels next to your feet OR even on the side of the dash behind the cover. You'll need to check with the dealer and give them your VIN number and have them see if there are more then just the under-hood fuse box. Because most likely you have blown a fuse somewhere. You check on the fuses boxes and I'll do some more research and let you know. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Michelle.

hi Memory,

You can try 2 things:

1. If the HDD has jumpers make sure to set the one you want to boot from as the master.

2. Go into your BIOS and choose which device to boot from first.

Also just to be sure disable all other drives and boot with the single drive to ensure that it actually works. There are bootdisks that can help with booting issues one being called ultimate boot cd but i wouldn't touch settings unless you know what your doing.

Hope this helps,

hi michelle, first check to see if you can even get to your BIOS. if that is not posible then you might have either a power supply or motherboard issue. for either one of those you will need to send for repair.

ASUS Motherboard A7N266-VM

If you have another video card you can try (you can put an AGP card in there, it will disable the onboard video automatically), take that route first. If you can't, or it occurs with another card, it may be your power supply. It would help to know if your pc beeps when you turn it on, and how many - if any - beeps there are.
