I have that same monitor, it will display that resolution with no problem, therefore it is the graphics driver and or the video card, when you purchase a card, it should have a guide that advises you of the resolution it supports.

Not able to use full screen

Hello,
This sounds like bad resolution is set on your computer. The LG 22" FLATRON monitor has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050. However, your video card may not support this so you can also try any other 16:10 resolution like 1440 x 900.

To change your resolution in Windows XP:
1. Access the Control Panel.
2. Choose "Display".
3. Click the "Settings" tab.
4. Under "Screen resolution" move the slider to a 16:10 resolution like 1680 x 1050 or 1440 x 900.

If you computer does not support higher resolutions, you may consider replacing your video card to take full advantage of your nice 22" Flatron monitor.

If I can further assist you, please let me know.

Regards,
KYTechnology

More screen resolution

I have a solution to your problem, it is comprehensively explained in my published guide entitled How to set your Desktop Screen Resolution?
Hope this enables you to increase your resolution for a better picture.

If you are still unable to do so, then install the latest driver for your graphics card, either Nvidia or ATI

Native resolution suddenly scrolls.

The native resolution for the Acer AL2216W is 1600X1200. It is acting correctly for the resolution you have set it to.

Resolution issues with Acer LCD al 2216w

Possibly this will help. I have installed two1680x1050 LCD screens this past year: your 2216W model on a new PC, and a similar model from another maker on my wife's older HP PC.

Mine worked at the native resolution, my wife's did not. Difference: the age of the computer's (actually Windows XP's) native software for monitors. I went to Control Panel, Display, Advanced, and slid the left-hand slider control to view the various resolutions available. On the newer computer, the highest resolution choice was 1680x1050. On the older computer, the choice was not given. The choices stopped somewhere areound 1270 by 1080.

Solution was to download the newer driver from (as I recall) the computer manufacturer's website, using their regular download/update channel. That gave my wife's older computer the necessary top-end resolution. It was not something the monitor manufacturer could have fixed.
