Question about Cycling
You could try squirting some lubrication inside the cable outers which run all the way down from the shifter on the handlebar to the rear mech. squirt a good ammount of lube into the outers and along the exposed cable. release the cable at the rear mech end and use your fingers to move the cable back and forth inside its housing to free it up. Re tension gear cable and realisgn the gears and re-try. failing that take it to a good bike shop for assessment.
